    LOWE TO ENTER PORTAL

Jaland Lowe to enter portal. Guess he didn't want the competition from Mason Williams

Good luck young man, wherever you land

I was wanting to upgrade the position anyway. If he's afraid of competition from a 4 Star freshman then he isn't who we want leading the program anyways.

I would say the writing is on the wall. Pope has told Lowe we are going in a different direction. He might not know who the new PG1 will be but I bet he has a good idea. I think he signs a true PG and then another combo with plenty of PG experience. If he does not he is not learning anything. Also saw a few people online yesterday (X and youtube) discussing the Williams kid getting the Hawthorne treatment this year (Redshirt). Not sure if any of that is fact or just guessing.

Good luck to Lowe, hopefully Pope has his point guard in the portal ready to commit.

That's too bad. I was wanting to see what a healthy Lowe could do here.

I was not overly impressed with Lowe but he filled a void if only for a short time
I'm confident Pope will bring in a quality point guard

Unfortunate that we never saw him healthy. I think he would have helped us get a few more wins.

With him 100%, we don’t lose some of those close games. UNC and Mizzou at home in particular. The Auburn game. Probably beat UF at home.

Four more wins puts us at 23-8 regular season. 14-4 in the SEC and gives us a double bye in the SEC. Probably win one game in the SEC and then lose in the semis to Bama. 24-9 going into the NCAA and a 4 or 5 seed and another Sweet Sixteen before losing to Michigan or Arizona. 26-10 on the season.

On the downside, we wouldn’t have the “we lost our PG” excuse to make us feel better and we would still be going into this offseason wondering if a Sweet Sixteen is Pope’s ceiling.

I know, I think too much. LOL!

We played without him the majority of the season, so next year won't be that much of a change. Think we needed to upgrade whether stayed or not. He was decent but was top tier in our conference, imo. Will he still be injury prone? We couldn't go into next season assuming he's going to stay healthy throughout.

I wish him well, but I am glad to see this. He was quick and could get to the rim and could create for himself, but he was not good at distributing the ball and getting his teammates involved. As I said, nothing personal. I hope he get healthy has a great year next year, but I think we can do much better.

Agree. Though I wish the young man well, Pope should be able to do better in the portal.
