6’8, 210 is big enough to play the 4 against most teams. Momcilovic at 6’8, 225 is already big enough as well. Most teams in college play 4 out, anyway, so you don’t really need a 240 pound brute at the 4 spot. And big guys like that trying to chase stretch 4’s off the 3 point line is not a great recipe for success.

Yaxel Lendeborg is 6'9", 240 and is somewhat of an ideal 4 because of his abilities, skill and athleticism and the fact that he can play inside with physicality and consistently shoot the three....but he's more the exception than the rule. After all, Yaxel Lendeborg types don't grow on trees. There's a reason Michigan won the championship this year.

We have our back up center as well. Not sure he ever plays, 7th college season. Needs waiver due to injuries.

People seem pretty confident he gets another year. Basically missed two seasons due to injuries. Played 8 in one and 10 in the other. The COVID year didn’t count. So that means he actually played three seasons. We have our back up center as well. Not sure he ever plays, 7th college season. Needs waiver due to injuries.

This might be the last year we see something like this, with this 5 in 5 rule expected to go into effect for this next cycle. Starting next season, a player will have five years max, from what I understand. If it passes.

In the NBA, they play 6'5 200 at the 4, just depends on the system they are in. Of course the opposing team can slow it down post up and go to work on a small 4 but the analytics say that face paced shoot within 7 seconds up and down pace is the way to go. Name of the game is still who can score the most points..

Obviously we did not get the recruits or a team of players we where expecting but hopefully we get a TEAM of disciplined HARD WORKERS? I still think talent wins games and you need a start of two surrounded by role players but a team in unity as one goes along way, hope that is the case this year.
Also very hopeful we have a few non big name sleepers ready to bust it wide open this year....Comment

Updated roster/rotation:
G Diallo/M. Williams
G Wilkins/Morton/Z. Hawthorne
F K. Williams/B. Hawthorne/Noah
F N’Diaye/McBride
C Moreno/Kepnang/Potter
That’s 13 scholarships.
Go full out for Momcilovic now.👍 1Comment

The backcourt is what gives me hope. Being able to create for themselves and others. Hopeful Kam takes a step as well as Moreno.Comment

Didn’t Lendeborg actually play the 3 most of the time with Johnson and Mara as the 4 and 5? That was a team of freaks really.

Could also add Vyctorious Miller to the backcourt. That’s another guy with P5 starter experience. Another long (6’5 guard). Gives us the option to play 3 guards together. He’s a pretty good shooter (38% last year). Might be a good complement to Diallo and Wilkins.
If we can’t get Momcilovic, this might be a decent fall back plan to add another wing shooter. He would be much cheaper (not that I care how much Pope spends on a roster), but also not nearly as talented.Last edited by bucsrule8872; 15 hours ago.Comment

Hearing talk that McBride might be expected to start over N’Diaye at least initially. That wouldn’t surprise me, as I have said before international players scare me a bit. I do not want to have to rely on N’Diaye as a starter. I think as it sits right now they will end up with a 20/20 or 25/15 split.
I would love to add Momcilovic to go with Kam and let Hawthorne, McBride, and N’Diaye fight it out for the backup forward minutes.
Just not expecting much from N’Diaye. Just haven’t been impressed with any of our international guys in the past several years.
