And an offense designed to get those shooters open.
Our offense today essentially did nothing to create any good looks or opportunities.Comment

Lots of problems but the one that sticks out most, in my mind, is the turnovers. This team simply does not value the ball.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

It’s been that way all season. What have you been watching? They were supposed to be really strong defensively and their terrible. Team overall was garbage like I said earlier. I wish the kids well but their just not a good teamLast edited by Ratt; 4 days ago.👎 2Comment

True, but isn't Pope wanting them all back for next year? Minus the ones who don't have any eligibility left. I don't think we have any recruits that have committed, do we?Comment

So how long does bbn have to tolerate a coach that can not recruit, can not make good adjustments, he makes plenty of terrible ones. Pope is not the coach for any major basketball program, much lest UK. Next yr will be more of the same. Just horrible basketball and complete lack of talentComment

You don't fire a coach after one bad year. Nobody does that unless there are extenuating circumstances. Nobody. What's baffling is seeing people actually calling for it to happen.
And while it was poor by our standards, we were still in the tournament and advanced to the second round.👍 3😂 1👎 1Comment

That's been a huge problem. However, losing the amount of players to long term injuries, two seasons in a row, it's just some really bad luck. That's hard to overcome, no matter who you are.👍 1Comment

Part of the problem is that ridiculous contract that Barnhardt gave Pope. We could have a repeat of this year next year BUT....if the outcome of today's second round game is different, then the "automatic contract extension for one year for reaching the Sweet Sixteen" goes into effect.
That said, it's not really the "one bad year" that has me ready or willing to make a change. It's the ridiculous comments that he makes on a regular basis. It's the way that he coaches. It's the personnel decisions that he makes in terms of the players he's bringing in to the program, who he starts, when and how he subs, etc. It's the fact that he doesn't have a single recruit committed for next year and he wants to retain this current group of players! So it's not the results as much as it is his actions and decisions along the way that lead up to the results!Last edited by UKHoops01; 4 days ago.👍 1Comment
