Cal got fat and lazy leaves for the Hogs isn’t screaming go and is bringing elite talent and coaching them up. Pope can’t recruit anyone and spending ridiculous money on projects and injured players. Something is a miss when Kentucky spends more then anyone yet doesn’t have a Top 50 roster.

Cal frustrated me a ton his last 7 or so years here because he didn't seem to be trying. And yes, it's frustrating that now he seems to be trying more.👍 3 -

Cal has a administration that loves him and tons of NIL money
No secret the Crafts couldn't stand Cal..most of your big time boosters wanted him gone
Cal did what he had to do..Leave for another programLast edited by TrueblueCATfan; 21 hours ago.👍 1Comment

Cal leaving was right for him and right for UK. I harbor no ill will towards him. I wish he’d have done things differently than he did after he got his big contract but I ultimately wish Mitch had done a better job of filling the job when hiring Cal’s replacement.👍 4Comment

This isn’t about CAL finding his mojo again, I’m frustrated that Kentucky hasn’t. We all knew when CAL left he would get that hunger back to win at all cost. Kentucky is stuck in quick sand slowly sinking.👍 2Comment

Maybe I'm not seeing what you're seeing. I don't feel like he got his mojo back at this point. I will give him credit for winning the SEC tournament, but he did it by a 3 point win vs (11) Oklahoma, an OT 3 point win vs (15) Ole Miss and a win vs (4) Vandy. They've been ranked in that 15-25 range all season. He got a 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Like others, it was just time. It wasn't going to work here, but at no time do I feel like he should still be our coach. Our problem is we hired the 30th most qualified man for the job bc he was "one of us".👍 3Comment

Bingo! And it was all masked in the nostalgia of the 1990s. I'm not afraid to admit I fell victim to it. Those were teams I watched in my formative years and I still think back to those days. But, nostalgia doesn't win games.
Talking about Cal, I don't think he ever really lost his "mojo." He's still doing what he did at UK. When he left for Arkansas, I figured he'd win there. He gets really good players. That's part of the coaching package that he brings that it appears Pope is lacking (recruiting). Like we've said, it was time for him to move on. For him and UK. But him leaving and the Pope hire are separate events.

I know it doesn't matter and most of us was ready for a change but still, it's a sore subject.
This dude could of cared less about winning a SEC championship at Kentucky now he's winning a highly talented athletic team, kick in the face to be honest....
Oh well, we are still alive, see what happens...Comment
