Well, I am working today and not much going on here. I can either slide next door to the neighbor's business and have lunch watch the game or I can stream here and watch the game, either way I plan on tuning in. The only bad thing about watching the game here at work is that if they lose, I don't want to be responsible for throwing this computer screen out in the middle of I-64 lol lol lol lol lol......

Since today's college players are paid and are treated like professionals more than college athletes, here is my question in regards to this team moving forward this year, are they ready to flip the switch????

What does that even mean? Well if anyone here happens to follow the NBA, you see it year in year out. Some teams just do enough to make the playoffs, then flip the switch. During this time, you see players not giving 100% effort at all times, players managing minutes, all the junk that goes along with it. I don't buy into all that but sometimes It does work.

Brings me back to this Kentucky team. Does it have potential, yes I still believe that.

Are we missing a few guys and that true freakazoid talent yes but we still have really good players.

This time of the year it's about matchups and games get a little tighter, little slower, more grinding it out.

Pope hasn't done himself any favors with this sub patterns and all that this year but hopefully these players finally step and give all they have to give. If nothing else, they are also playing for a pay raise next year and beyond, they still have a job to do and the world is watching....
The way we ended the last two games didn't give me a lot of hope. But, technically it is a new season and weird stuff can happen in single game elimination tournaments. We will need all three of Oweh, Aberdeen, and Chandler scoring, and scoring often. Maybe this team can pull off what NC State did a couple years back.

As a die hard long time UK fan, once again I am going to DIG DEEP and bring myself to rally around this team to support it moving forward but after the dust settles and it's all said and done, lots and many things need to be addressed moving forward.

Hell I am being honest and if it's going to be like this, should have kept my mouth shut towards Calipari and just let him non coach and bring in a couple of 1st round all star NBA talents year in and year out hoping for the best...

THE LACK OF RECRUITING IS A MAJOR MAJOR X BILLION X A BILLION PROBLEM FOR MARK POPE......NO EXCUSES!!!!!1 BYU IS ADDING ANOTHER ALL STAR NEXT YEAR. POPE LEAVES BYU, THEY WHOLE PROGRAM GOT BETTER!!

This is one of the few Marches I enter with no real hope, but when I get like that with this team they throw me a surprise. I agree with your points, minus Cal. It was time for him to move on, but probably should've had about 30 coaches tell us no before moving to Pope.

This summer will show if Pope can be a serious, long-term coach at UK. He needs to blow the staff up and tell some of these guys thanks for your time, but you need to look elsewhere for playing time. If he tries to run it back with the same cast, he is doomed from the start. Also needs to learn how to play the recruiting game and leave his emotions and front of jersey talk at the door. My concern is this current season has set him way back, and I am not sure if he will have the time/ability to correct it.

If UK is the scheme, why not be like DUKE and have UK people on the staff?

Again, Rajon Rondo (for better or worse his time here but Tubby didn't know his own playbook) is a guru genuis with numbers and understands the game, plus he's a champion, he knows the in's and out.

John Wall could bring in people,

Derek Anderson and a few others for GM,

Pephrey Ford, whole list of people who knows exactly what it's about and could help Pope.

Pope can't do this whole KENTUCKY THEME by himself with people like Fox, Fueger, Brooks 3, Hart.

Really, who are these guys and what have they really every done????? It's like we have a new Bugatti sitting in the driveway but we want to drive around town in a Chevette.

JMI?? First thing is first, track down the family ties to Barndart in that deal and make it NULL AND VOID...
