    SECT Predictions

Hard to believe we start the SEC Tournament tomorrow (10:30 AM tip for me!), but here we are... LSU is up first, win that and then a rematch vs. Mizzou, and then Florida looming for a Friday game.

I think we win 2 games and then lose to Florida. I don't think we have the type of team to make a long run in the SECT, especially if it involves playing Florida again.

If the fatigue factor kicks in, then tomorrow it's over.

I agree with the OP. Possibly 2 wins and out. But with this team, nothing is very certain.

2 wins and out. That puts us 21-13 and somewhere on the 7-10 seed line in the NCAA Tournament where we'll be lucky to win the first game and then possibly matchup with someone like Duke, Arizona, Michigan, Texas Tech, etc where I believe we will be thoroughly humiliated.

Based on past play and results, team could POSSIBLY win the tourney or lose To LSU in the 1st game. I cannot. Even begin to predict an outcome. I just hope they get plenty of rest and practice lay ups.

A certainty - balls will be played with. The manner of such could be equally glorious, or horrific.

I think that puts us more like a 6. Certainly not a 10.

Pope will get a 3rd year but in my opinion, he is now coaching to save his job at this point, it starts this week...

That's the summation of the entire season for this team. They might totally surprise us and win a couple, or they could totally sh*t the bed tomorrow morning.

I hate that at this point in the season we're still like a box of chocolates.

I agree with 2 and out which, at this point, is probably the best we can realistically expect.

Lunardi has us on the 7 line right now with a potential UCONN matchup in the second round. A lot will depend on the next couple days. Really thought we'd be a three seed at the worst at the beginning of the year with a chance at a Final Four. Now, we're playing the first game tomorrow. Disappointing to say the least.

Bracket Matrix shows us at 7, a few 6s and 8s, but mostly all 7s. I don't expect much of a run, but if they can get to a 6 seed I'd take our chances vs. the 3s (if UK can win rd1). Hard to see them doing anything against the projected 1s and 2s.

My question is....is a repeat of year 1 enough for him to keep his job, and does a repeat of year 2 automatically cost him his job?

My thoughts are...it probably will be for the first scenario, and probably isn't for the second. I think the university probably has a longer leash for him than we realize. Although, truthfully...I think anything short of a pretty miraculous season.....one in which Kentucky is ranked and hangs around the top 10 all season, results in single digit losses and a deep tournament run.... should be grounds for seriously looking at replacing him.

                              This sounds reasonable to me.
