2026 any coach that they would hire under age 50 will lean heavily on analytics. Wither you like analytics or not they are here to stay in all team sports

The NBA has been big on the 7 second rule offensively for a few years, Florida's coach is a 5 second coach..

% has shown in the past with some teams the shooting % is better under 7 as opposed to working the ball moving it around stalling out and all that crap..

I may be wrong. No big deal if I am. Won't be the first or the last time. But I still think Pope can coach. He needs more shooters to be successful. He put together a team from scratch at the last minute last year. Despite injuries and made the sweet 16. Won more games against ranked opponents than anyone. You don't achieve that if you aren't a good coach.

They were we weak defensively last year. So he went too far in the other direction building this team and forgot to get enough shooters. This is a pretty good defensive team. Numbers bear that out. But they lack shooters.
. He needs to do a much better job in the portal next year building a better rounded team.
if he doesn't then i doubt he gets a year 4 and he shouldn't.

As bad as it has looked at times and as bad as it seems, I just hate to see Pope having to go through this. I know he's a great dude, working his butt off and then some, something just off.

More concerning than anything, recruiting.... Literally, what the blank is that all about, that is a major SERIOUS PROBLEM. Can't rely on systematic role players to carry a team each and every year provided that actually catch on to the system during the season and know the role,,,

Talent wins games. Back in 96, Pitino, the Pope, the returning players, the system. Still all star talent Walker and company... Talent has and will always win games.

Maybe JQ was the elite talent, maybe Lowe, who knows..

For sure it KENTUCKY basketball is in the has been range for many years. Last year was not a great year but the team came together to win 2 in the tourney.

This year we are probably a 9 or 10 seed. Heck maybe 11 seed if NCAA looks at the end of our year. Maybe we get the play in game, who knows.

We do not have anything coming in so far for next year (will change I am sure), but we are a shell of KENTUCKY BASKETBALL for sure.

Dickie said 22 mil I think you can get a better roster. Pope keeps looking worse and worse. Jeli saying it is not fatigue. Pope whomever he is protecting just looks like a fool at this point. I would say if the players do not trust him then you get play like this. I would hold on to your butts this off season. Not sure Pope can hold on to any player.
