I think the most important thing in the video is that he may be interested in moving beyond Iowa St. Most have assumed in the past he wouldn't leave. I found it interesting. For something like this to come out must mean there is smoke behind the scenes.Comment

Either would be good I agree. Think that position needs to bleed blue and be well versed in all things a GM does. But would love for the position to be a Kentuckian. Would be nice but not a have to thing.Proverbs 25:24👍 1Comment

From my perspective, Pope wants to control every single aspect of the program. He is just as stubborn as past coaches, but has no resume to back it up.
There's no reason for UK to be lagging this far behind in this current era, but here we are..👍 2Comment

I will say that it's probably about 50/50 of programs that have a GM and don't have a GM. Here are the current top 10 teams and if they have a GM:
Duke - yes
Arizona - yes
Michigan - yes
UConn - yes
Florida - no
Iowa State - no
Houston - no
Michigan State - no
Nebraska - yes
Texas Tech - yes
SEC Teams
Florida - no
Alabama - no
Arkansas - yes
Tennessee - no
Mizzou - yes
Vandy - yes
Texas A&M - no
Kentucky - no
Texas - yes
Georgia - no
Auburn - yes
Oklahoma - no
Mississippi State - no
Ole Miss - no
LSU - yes
South Carolina - no
The top 4 teams in the country probably point to having one, but it's not a blanked thing that all programs have them.
