A 40 % shooting Point guard would be fine. It's enough to keep the defense honest.
his role should setting up the offense, distributing the ball with passing and ball handling skills.
at 6'7 - 6'8, how effective could a point guard be at taking his smaller opponent down low.

Pate isn’t perfect, but he might be the best option.

Rather have a shooter at PG, but if you can surround him with Johnson, Chandler, and Williams, then maybe he can be effective. If you have a guard that can get to the rack, he doesn’t have to be great from 3 as long as you put him out there with shooters that he can kick it out to.

If you want a shooter at PG, you probably want Pope to wait and find someone in the portal. Or hope Johnson steps it up in Year Two. Johnson can shoot. If he gets stronger, he could be a factor next year.

Zero stud high school kids, and a staff that seems to struggle to evaluate college talent equals a bad year again. Kentucky should never sign a kid who has injury concerns and or one coming off an injury that hasn’t healed. It’s criminal how much better Floridas roster is compared to Kentucky’s.

I'll be surprised if anybody returns. Add in no high school recruits & that's an epic disaster. Why would anybody, current players or portal players, want to be a part of this nightmare. It's just going to be abysmal here until an adult fires Pope & hires a real coach.

That is a sore subject, especially after the Sharpe situation before..

We could really use JQ defending blocking shots chasing rebounds lob dunks etc...

If it's true his family doesn't want him to play, POPE should absolutely kick him off the team right now...

I hope the roster stays healthy next year. I also hope that IF there is a player or two on this team that are severely hurting team chemistry, then they aren't back. But I don't know if that's just a rumor or not. Other than that, I like all the players and would be fine if they all returned.

I'm not concerned about high school recruits. I would like us to add a couple of proven stars from the portal.

I am usually all for retention but to be frank, I wouldn't be upset if most guys leave/are told to look elsewhere. I've seen just about every minute of this team play and most of these guys do not seem to fit with Pope or each other. I think we're going have to hit the portal and hope we can build a similar team to year 1. If we try to run it back with the same core, I think we're saying these exact things next year.
