Sun Belt Tourney is Crazy

Saw this on another site. This is crazy, but I like it. It rewards the top seeds and puts a huge premium on winning the regular season. Obviously this is tilted more toward protecting the auto-bid process, but I think it's good in general.
14 teams, they are having a "gauntlet tournament.
Bottom 4 teams play in 1st round,
2 winners advance to play 9 & 10 seeds,
2 winners advance to play 7 & 8 seeds,
2 winners advance to play 5 & 6 seeds,
2 winners advance to play 3 & 4 seeds,
2 winners advance to play 1 & 2 sees,
2 winners play in championship

Man if you are the 4 worst teams and won that tourney, you were on a heater that week.

They introduced it last year. I like how it gives a huge advantage to the teams that were the best during the regular season, even thought last year the 1 and 2 seeds both lost in the first game they played. What I don't like is it's only 2 games a day for 6 days and then the championship game on the 7th day. That's a long time and might not give a real "tournament" feel.

Yep, exactly. Make the first few rounds where to advance you have to win two games in one day! AAU style
