He's not saying he's shut it down for the season. He's saying his on-court activities are shut down at the moment to get the swelling to subside. At this point, I feel it's doubtful he plays again, but Pope isn't saying he's shutting it down for the season....yet.

Boy, you sure do work overtime to defend Mark Pope.

          Good on ya!

I hope all that grace works out for you as Kentucky continues to crumble.

It was always a risk that this would happen with this type of injury. His St Johns debut got everyone's hopes sky high. Rug kind of pulled out from under us AGAIN. A disappointing chapter in a bitterly disappointing season.

He decided to rest shortly after his dad went online questioning his usage. Let’s not pretend this is anything but sitting out for the draft combine. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

JQ was always a risk/reward pick up. Unfortunately, UK has gotten mostly all of the risk from it. I've seen some people wanting to blame Pope, I really don't on this one. I do blame him for not having a true back up PG for two years in a row.

I blame Pope for going and getting an injured guy who was guaranteed to NOT play half the year and throwing away NIL that could have been better spent on, say, Caleb Wilson who is averaging 19.9 pts a game.

Hopefully he decides to return next year and gets his knee right by then. At this point, I can't see an NBA team taking a chance with a high draft pick on him.

I agree.. He is not ready for the NBA

NBA hasn’t worried about players being ready for decades.
