Pope insists "this is not who we are"

My grandfather once told me. When a person shows you who they are. Believe them, the first time.

I'm finished with this experiment. We do not have talent on the floor. We do not have talent on the sideline.

There are no blue chips coming through the door for next year. The only option is another portal rebuild. It's not working and I see zero reasons to believe Pope can turn this around. Starting with last night, i see us losing 8 out of our last 11 and a first round SEC tourny loss. NO NCAA appearance.

Not sure it is all talent. Go back to the unforgettables. They were out talented in many games and were in many games. Yes they were blown out a few times but beat some really good teams.

This is not just talent. I can deal with being out-talented. I cannot deal with UK playing like the old SEC schools that used to play us. They rolled over from tip to final buzzer. Yesterday sounds like it was more than just a pure talent thing.

At this point, Pope just needs to be honest because his rope is getting shorter and shorter. This is exactly who this team is- a team that can play rock fights against mid competition and gets blown out against any type of quality team.

I’ve tried to be positive and hopeful, but this team doesn’t have the talent or coaching to compete at a high level.

Last night is exactly who we are. It's been almost two years of the same thing happening. We've had collected the data for almost two years and it says this team is exactly what they were last night. No question about it.

There are different ways to take the "this is not who we are" comment by Pope. One way is to see that he may be agreeing with all of us and just saying it in a more diplomatic way. As in, the product on the court this year is not who UK is.

Hope is Not a strategy

value the damn ball. Take pride in your defense. Make the next pass to get your teammate a better shot than you have. Do the hard things. Don’t just roll over and take it.

case in point- yes we were down 20. But to let them dribble at half court for SEVERAL posessions late in the game while we were back in the paint watching? BULLSH@T! FIGHT! FIGHT UNTIL IT’S OVER! That absolutely sickened me.
