    NCAA approves patches for uniforms

Will help generate money to pay for players
The Division I Cabinet on Friday approved a proposal that will allow Division I sports programs to place additional commercial logos or patches on uniforms, equipment and apparel for any non-NCAA championship competition, including the regular season.

Welp I think that is where my fan loyalty ends with College sports. Next you will have guys selling ad spaces on the eye black, you will have guys on the sidelines holding up banners for a TV shot. This is not at all about universities and all sporting events should be removed from campus activities. Teams should not be city or state entities and now have University of, College of removed from the teams. Call them Lexington Wildcats, Richmond Colonels and so forth. The NCAA should be dissolved and have a total other entity in charge of this professional league/leagues. Part of their pay can be to go to the local university but it is not needed. Sick of the whole situation. It will just get worse from here. Will be like NASCAR races and have sponsors for individual games. Tennessee vs Kentucky brought to you by Paul Miller Ford and Ford Motor Company. You will notice the uniforms today are ford blue with Ford across the chest of the players. Tennessee is sponsored by George Dickel and Jack Daniels. You will notice the whiskey barrel themed uniforms they are donning tonight. Please drink responsible and do not drink and drive. Here's the tip.

I hate this one. Crazy how quickly it went from let kids sign a few autographs for pocket money to make it all about the money.

While I get the novelty of the old days, universities have been making money from advertising for years. You see it on the court, around the court, in sponsored interview segments, etc. But all of that money has gone to the university on the backs of their athletes. I'm curious why a patch on a jersey that benefits the kids who are making the money for the university is here your loyalty ends? Or is it just everything added up together and you were already at your tipping point?

When everything becomes money, about the money, money money money, I have no want to be a part of that game. Even back in the 30s, 40s 50s, you think UK was not make tons off those guys as well. Just ticket sales and such made money for the university.

Now we no longer UK the team of the people, we are UK the team of the highest bidder. If you are going to be all about the money, then you are fully professional. That is what this has become across the board. I have watched 0 pro games this year of any sport. There is not heart in NBA, NFL or any of it. We are witnessing that this year, it will not get better. It will get 10 fold or 100 fold worse over the next 5 years.

In this new age of existence we have thrown out definitions of simple things, Amateurism has been redefined to, professional sports. It has not place in College. It is no longer anything to do with college.
