    Pope

I hate to say this but I feel Pope is over his head.

    1. How do you go into the season and only have 1 point guard?

    2. Gauging by the players on the court, with a few exceptions, the talent is not very good

    3. His game planning is not very good. we do not run a good offense.

    4. Yes injuries hurt, but a a head coach you must have multiple game plans

100 % agree with all of this he’s done and we aren’t making the tournament continuing down this road!

The players we had last year were much better.

These players can’t shoot or rebound very well

He's had a bad half a season, for sure. But there's no universe he doesn't get next season regardless.

Not saying he should be fired, just questioning his abilities

Do we even have any recruits on board for next season

Not sure, but it's not next season yet. And Pope definitely didn't have any recruits at this point 2 years ago and we made the Sweet 16. The transfer portal is what matters.

We have 0 guys committed. We will have 0 guys committed by season end. We will not even have guys back. Johnson, Moreno, Noah all gone (if they are smart), Garrison and Chandler as well should be gone. Jela will probably end up at Illinois where he will thrive. The product today makes huge difference for the future. If you want to have a team worth cheering for and we get year 3 from Pope it will be as bad as Kenny Payne and UofL. He should be Gandhi after this year.

I’m rooting for Pope. I have some concerns, but doing my best to try and let the season play out.

one aspect him and the staff need to figure out are these slow starts. Those have been killers in many of his losses at UK.

I am rooting for him too. I'll wait to judge when the season's over.

He's obviously able to absorb and use an enormous amount of detailed information, otherwise he wouldn't have been a Rhodes scholar candidate, or been accepted to and spent nearly fours years at an Ivy medical school. To your point about the slow starts, I wonder if the players are being fed too much information. He loves the detail and metrics, but information's only useful if it can be used. Just a thought.

Whatever the issue may be, he'll learn and grow. I very much hope it's at UK, and for a very long time to come.

The 22 million is what’s killing me for those that say BCG was playing in a down SEC yeah you’re right but he didn’t have 22 million to spend on a roster. We spent the most than any team out there and we’re on the verge of not even making the NCAA tournament. Let all that sink in for a minute and most of the players are ROLE players most are 3rd or 4th best at each position he wasn’t even able to get the top players for the 22 million. So he had to over spend for nothing but role players. I honestly don’t even know what a 3rd year will even do other than prolong the obvious this job is just to big and it’s not Pope’s fault it’s Mitch’s for putting Pope into this position .

I have my doubts on Pope as a Coach, but I think he can learn from his mistakes. He has the resources to help him correct those mistakes. It will be up to him to correct them.

The 22 million is just a rumor. But even if it isn't, why does that make it worse for you? Would you be OK with the results if it was $10M? Or would you still be mad at $15M, etc.? If we hadn't spent any money at all (and I haven't contributed a nickel), would we all just not care whether we won or loss?

It's best to forget about the money, because if that's what you are worried about, you'd be better off just walking away from cheering for UK.
