    Jasper Johnson @ PG ?

Do you guys think he can play the PG position ? I just don't think he has the ball handling to handle the PG position. Agree or disagree.

I totally agree and it’s already been proven this year when he’s tried it.

He likely will have to do it some. Not sure he can. He's a scorer, ball handling is not there yet.

I think his ball handling is fine and he's a decent facilitator. I don't think we lose too much having him on the floor on offense. It's the defensive end of the floor that worries me with Jasper

It would be great if he could secure the pg spot. This would free up DA at shooting guard where he is more effective.

Frankly he's better on defense than Chandler, and although his handle is shaky at times, I like what he gives us when he's facilitating rather than forcing. I think we need to give Jasper a little more playing time to continue to develop- his ceiling is very high indeed.

I can teach him better ball handling skills—hey Jasper…carry the ball between every dribble. Keep it low and take it wherever you want.

Seriously though I haven’t minded his scorer’s mentality on a team that can struggle to score for long stretches. But that was when we had a PG. Now—I’d love to see him try to set up and get some offense flowing. Shoot when it’s wide open, penetrate when it’s available, but otherwise get others involved.

I just don't see him doing well at PG in the SEC. IMO he needs to a back up at the 2. Not impressed with his play right now. I know he is a freshmen and will do better next year if he stays.

                    He has to get stronger.

His ball handling is fine. He's actually got some of the better handles and ability to penetrate than most everybody on the team. And he CAN pass. The thing that concerns me is that he has a scorer's mentality and is a bit hesitant to pass the ball. He's definitely not a pass first guard, which is kind of crucial to be a point guard. But....that is probably the one area of his game that needs the most work and I believe he has the ability to address the room for improvement, so this could turn out to be a blessing for him. Travis Perry handled it pretty well last year, and Jasper is much better athletically, so hopefully it will work out fine.
