    St. John's

Anybody else feel like this game ultimately will tell us whether or not there's any chance of salvaging this season?

I can't help but feel like a win kind of keeps hope alive a bit longer, where as a loss might cause a lot of (and especially casual) Cats fans to more or less check out. Especially on having any long term (and serious) hope for this team, this year.

I think a loss here would be devastating for fan and player moral. I'm not sure the Cats would even make the tourney .
A win would be huge for both. Will JQ play and if so, does he make a difference. He hasn't played competitively for almost a year.

Almost every game from here on out, someone will likely say it's the biggest game or the make or break game, etc. :-)

That being said, yeah - it does feel like a really big game. As for me, I don't think the season is necessarily over if we lose. There's still time to get hot and get an OK seed and then make a run. Those casual fans will check back in when we start winning.

Not saying st John's is the biggest game of the year nor losing the game means the season is over. A loss here is morale killing but the season can be turned around, just puts more doubt going forward
The team must develope a winning mentality

Let the Cats win this one against St. John's and then go on a 10 game winning streak, including wins over Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas afterward.... and I don't think we'd hear much "biggest game of the season" talk.... unless they went on a 3 or 4 game losing streak immediately afterward.

It might not be technically over, they could still make the tourney and might even be able to win the SEC or SEC tourney.....but in the minds of many (including the so-called pundits) they wouldn't be a serious threat to bring home #9.

            .
Disagree. People love to make every game the biggest. If we're comfortably in the tourney, then it will be how we can improve our seed with this game or that game.

At this point, I think most fans would relax and feel relatively confident and comfortable if the scenario I laid out came to fruition. Of course there's always going to be whiners and malcontents who just can't be pleased no matter what.

I think maybe you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not specifically talking about this year. I'm saying as the season goes on each year, someone will end up stating that the next game is the biggest of the year for whatever reason. It always happens.

The next game is always the biggest game - until there are no more games to play.

Good, I'd rather be the underdog by a few points. Perhaps gives the team an added incentive

                            Late reply but yes, absolutely.

Glad we won and seemed to break out..
