I feel like Aberdeen left a Championship roster for a bag of money. Plus I don't feel he and OWEH really mesh well on the court, just my opinion.I feel like Aberdeen is taking a lot of heat, when he has been the guy that carried us with Lowe out. He wasn’t brought in to be the primary PG, yet that’s the role he has played almost exclusively so far. I don’t think we should be so down on him. If Lowe is able to run the show the rest of the year and DA can play off the ball a lot more, he is going to be more effective. He’s a little out of sorts right now trying to find his role on a team that needed him to do a lot early on, but now that we are getting healthy, we need him to throttle back a bit and be more of a role player.
I found it Ironic that every time Lowe would celebrate last game, it was with Aberdeen, the players who's place he will be taking lol lol lol. Not sure if he was rubbing that in his face or what to think of that.
On the flip side, I would rather see Chandler come off the bench to score and be a spark plug, Aberdeen Oweh at the 2 and 3. I like Chandler but I didn't know the gameplan was for Chandler to have the greenlight at will. Maybe down the road, not now in my opinion.

I agree that Aberdeen and Oweh have looked clunky when on the court together. Maybe that changes with Lowe back and Aberdeen can switch to a more natural position. I am somewhat optimistic that Oweh has gotten his legs back under him and his head back in the game.

I know Chandler was around 50% from 3 at some point (not sure now), but he has jacked up some awful shots the last couple games. But at one point, he looked like one of the few who even gave a care, so I can somewhat understand.
The one thing I took from the IU game is this group has to play as a team. We do not have the individual talent for someone to take over a game (yet), and when that happens the bricks get laid and we get run out of the gym.Comment

And here is the thing, it’s hard to play as a team when 3/5ths of your starting five has been out most of the season up to this point and your best player has been in and out of practice with a bad toe.
These guys are out of sorts and with good reason. Guys are playing roles that they weren’t meant to play. Chandler has had to be one of our leaders and the dude is a Sophomore and was expected to be a role player off the bench. Aberdeen has had to do way more than anyone expected. He was suppose to be a combo guard playing off the ball most of the time and backup PG. He was suppose to be the third or fourth option in the starting five, but he has times had to be the first option.
Moreno is not ready to be a starter as a Freshman. He has been forced into a role he is not ready for because Garrison is a backup Center and JQ isn’t ready to go yet.
Johnson isn’t ready and has at times been thrust into a bigger role than he should have.
If Lowe and Oweh would have been completely healthy, then Aberdeen, Chandler, and Johnson would be looking at a lot less minutes. If we had JQ healthy, Moreno and Garrison play much smaller roles.
Jelavic and Williams have also had to do more with Dioubate out.
And it’s not just that these guys have missed games, they have missed lots of practice time as well.
It is really difficult to build consistency when guys are missing practice. The “next man up” mentality will only get you so far, especially when it becomes “next MEN up.” Replacing one player is one thing, replace three or four is a different story.Last edited by bucsrule8872; 12-16-2025, 07:42 PM.👍 2Comment

If he hasn't played by the bellarmine game, I'll have some doubts about him ever playing. If not st John's then the bellarmine game would be a good place to break him in before conference play but st John's would be better
