Pope is not the problem, he does not play on the floor or takes shots for the team. It is players like Garrison that does not give 100%. Pope pulled him and lit into him last night and think God did not let him play anymore in the game. We need JQ back in the worst way. I still can't put my finger on what's wrong with this team and I don't see them beating IU this coming Sat. Sure hope I am wrong but you look at other teams and the way they play makes UK look soft. Maybe when JQ is on the floor it will help this team.

The only new beginning is next season.

      The whole season counts.

The regular season counts towards seedings.

The NCAA isn't going to say; "Oh well....I mean they started playing for real on 9 December....we won't count the losses prior to that."

I hate when coaches say this nonsense. No....the new season starts next year. This is still this season.

        Pope created the team.

        Pope lost the team.

        Pope is the leader.

        Pope is the coach.

        Ain't no escaping that.

It begins and ends with Pope.

If he has a problem child or children, then he is as much of a problem as they are until there is no longer a problem.

And you just now figuring this out???

Of course every loss counts including beat downs punked off the floor by Louisville, Michigan State, Gonzaga, am I forgetting someone???

Psychologically, the team and the fans need a reset after the Gonzaga game, look forward not behind.

Hate to bring it up but to hell with it, it fits the narrative. What if Calipari told his Arkansas team last January to pack it in hang it up until this year?? We are not the only team in history to basically suck in December yet find a way to end on a good note even make noise in March.

Will that happen, who knows? I know we still have 5 that can still play at a decent level if the right strings get pulled.

Still, if you me or anyone else is expecting a 1 2 3 4 type of seed, that ship done sailed,be lucky go get A SEED if won't turn it around quick which i still think we can..

Nah, it's obvious what you are trying to do.

I simply disagree with it and...well, it reminds me of the stupid ish that Cal used to try to pull.

            Cal is gone.

I think it's interesting how so many people (not just on here) are now saying how flawed the roster construction was. I didn't hear much, if any of that before the season. I don't think the issue of the way we've played in the games against better competition is the construction of the roster outside of the fact we've been missing 2-3 starters or players that would play significant minutes.

It's pretty easy to be critical in hindsight.

Florida has like 4 losses now. Are they ready to throw in the towel and fire the Coach?

Still, I get where you are coming from too. Difference between our losses and Florida's losses is they could have won any of those games, 3 of our games we looked like a AAU team.

I still think we have a solid 5-7 that can still compete and have a good season, just don't understand all the subs and combinations, the experiments..

I bought into the summer hype. Injuries played their hand in the poor start. I did have concerns with shooting and if the staff would try and let them bomb 3s. It seems Pope has gotten the picture that this isn't a 3 heavy type of team.

                      Same here.

As much as I do want to believe, I feel if we lose to Indiana the wheels may completely fall off the bus, it is a must win in my opinion, St. John's as well in my opinion..

I refuse to believe UK will lose to ul, unc, and iu in one season. We got a ticked off Pope, he might fight someone if that happens lol.

The team hit rock bottom after Zags lost. I have never seen a team get ripped from all angles like they did last week (most of it deserved). I can't explain why, but I think they win the next two and have a sliver of momentum going into SEC play.

I have remained the same 10 games into the season as I was back in July.... and that is, solid roster, really good depth, but the lack of a true stud (or two) along with highly questionable perimeter/3 point shooting was a big concern. But your point is very well taken... because the vast majority were having none of that. If you weren't fully on board and singing praises you were a "hater". I'm naturally a bit skeptical and not shy about voicing concerns, but unfortunately in today's world that makes you a Debbie downer more so than naturally curious or a rational thinker.

The biggest problem I have is how out of touch Pope seems to be. He called this roster a Ferrari. People on the team were saying Trent Noah was the best shooter they'd ever seen. Then Pope makes these leading remarks about something happening before the UofL game with no offer of any explanation as to what that was. They made that game close but were down double digits most of the game. Izzo beat the brakes off of him. Few installed new brakes and then proceeded to beat them off of him worse that Izzo. They literally went almost an entire 20 minutes between field goals between the second half of UNC and the first half of Gonzaga. Isn't Pope supposed to be some sort of offensive mastermind?

The KSR follow up made it seem that Pope is taking on too much. That combined with his inexperience of recruiting and coaching at this level explains the disconnect we've seen this year. UK is obviously his dream job, but a good leader delegates and trusts their staff to perform various duties. Unfortunately, we got a coach who is doing on the job training at one of the most visible college athletic programs. I am still rolling with him, but he is going have to shallow his pride some.

Wish he had been a little more seasoned before taking on UK, but he's obviously a smart dude. He's learning some painful lessons right now, one of which I believe is trying to be something you're not. He's a pace and space guy who thrived on the just-glad-to-be-here personalities, Amari's passing gifts and the dead-eye shooting talent on last year's squad. Sadly, there's far less of that this year, at least thus far, and he's struggling to manage.

I think he learns and corrects. I'm still rolling with him too
