He's trying to impress by showing everyone he can score. I think Pope needs to impress upon him that he's proven that...and now he needs to show everyone that can can pass and involve his teammates.

Pope did play a steady 5 in lengthy spurts tonight. First 6 minutes of game, pretty much the same starting the second half.

It's a start in my opinion

          Does that count for seeding?

Nice thought but doesn't mean a whole lot.

All smoke and mirrors until they play a team with a pulse.

No but it helps UK fans from driving downtown Louisville and jumping off the second street bridge into the Ohio.

And my advice if you are on the second street bridge, wear a hoody so the birds dont crap on you cause they will. I know that first hand because the night before I shipped off to Fort Benning, I snuck out of the Indiana Ramada and walked the bridge to party one more time at Splash down on the river, had crap all over me lol lol

No matter of reset or not or the first baby step. The issue with 2025 basketball is you carry your baggage. This team is in a deep hole and only has 2 games to even try to stop sinking in the quick sand. UK is 0-4 against competition. They have IU, ST John's and then you go into SEC. Which every SEC team will be ready to attack old style rough and tumble SEC games. Pope knows UK is in a world of hurt. UK would have to win out 2025 and better be very good in the SEC to even look at something like a 5 or 6 seed. Pope knows how hard game 1 is as a lower seed.

Great UK is 6-0 against no competition (not one game helps the metrics). UK still 0-4. That is in the back of the players and coaches minds. It is our minds as well. The boys in blue can only prove it on game day. I will not be holding my breath Saturday. I am going to expect the worst, hope for the best, wait till game is over to read about it and move on from there.

Pope said in his press conference last night that "we don't know how to compete and that is terrifying." What? We have a guy in Mo who has been to a Final Four and Aberdeen won a title and we don't know how to compete? Oweh sure knew how to compete last year. He willed us to a couple wins.

More word salad. He's as good as Cal was at saying something but not really saying anything at all.

I think that is 99% of coaches though. Next two games will show if his words mean anything or not.

Reading through various sources on the internet. The problem POPE has at this point with the fans is that most fans do not want a good team, we want a Great team. Maybe that is the expectations of Kentucky and what comes along with it but when you look at many others schools in the college landscape, we seem to be far behind at this point, that is a problem..

I will think this until it is proven to me otherwise: and that is, I believe Pope is thinking so firmly in the "TEAM" concept, that he is recruiting on an "EVERY PLAYER IS EQUAL" type level. Meaning, he's purposely trying to avoid having any player (or players) that are head and shoulders better than the others. He is trying to implement a SYSTEM that doesn't rely on individual talent.

In year 1, he had the shooters for his system, but he didn't have the athletes. AND...he wasn't prepared for the toughness and physicality of the SEC. So....he overcompensated when constructing this year's roster, with the problem being he didn't account for the shooting (or lack there of). Not to mention....if he'd placed more of a premium on bringing in a stud or two (i.e. - Yaxel Lendeborg and Donovan Dent) to go along with Oweh and the rest of the pieces/role players that he's assembled on this year's squad....the whole problem we're experiencing would likely have been avoided.

                                Spot on!!!!

This roster has been a cluster you know what by the way it was designed. Perhaps if a healthy Lowe (summer NBA draft talk) and JQ had been healthy, maybe it would and can still look different, i don't know.

To me, Oweh is your proven star, maybe Lowe, maybe JQ, everyone else should be a role player. Nothing against Chandler but if you would have told me he would be the one out here putting up shots like it's 1999 and leading the way prior to the season, I would have told someone they are crazy... Chandler may end up being very good but to say we need him jacking up shots and leading the way scoring sounds crazy to me. He should be getting shots when the stars are being doubled in my opinion..

Let's say last year's scoring Lowe, Oweh, and NBA talent JQ is the core, everything should feed off those three I would assume. Yet we have players it seems out here playing for stats and trying to be someone they are not...

Im rambling. Bottomline, this is Pope's problem, he created this mess..
