    Which loss

Which loss did it for you. Because it absolutely seems like this fan base has been completely demoralized.

I noticed a lot of Cats fans acting this way after the Louisville loss...but I thought that was crazy because the Cards are a very good team, it was at their place with a rabid fan base, and it was the third game of the season.

Michigan State was eye opening, and a bit embarrassing. That one got my attention, but I thought "it's early, we've got guys out and hurt, we'll bounce back".

UNC seemed more like bad luck that a sign that we're a bad team. Yes, that 10 minute stretch sucked and felt like we were jinxed more so that just plain crappy. A close game that we still should have won.

But even after all that, I hadn't given up on this team..... until last night. I knew the game was over when it was something like 14-2. By 19-2 I had no doubt. I was just hoping they would show some heart and make a comeback to make it close. That never happened.

So which loss was it for you that got your shrugging your shoulders and feeling like throwing in the towel on this season?

This describes me exactly except that I haven't given up on them. But clearly something is badly broken right now.

Michigan State for me. That was the game where I realized how poorly coached this team looks.

The UNC loss was hard to swallow with the way we lost and it being at home. I can take neutral floor and road losses, but losing at home (especially to an inferior opponent) is just inexcusable.

Whatever happened just prior or after the UL game is where these Cats lost their mojo.
I don't know what it was and frankly could careless. They need to put on their "big boy" shorts bury the hatchet and do the job they are being paid to do(that still sounds weird talking about college kids but...)

The 1st 3 losses concerned me but the loss to gonzaga was the worst for me. The lack of hustle, energy, effort and poor execution was unforgivable.
the coach should fire any player(S) WITH that attitude.

I am willing to forgive and forget. Way I see it, we are 0-0 starting a new season. Pope now has the opportunity to coach the greatest season of his coaching career and turn this around, would make a great story.

Either way as a fan, I have to let go and see what happens moving forward, no expectations for my own Kentucky basketball sanity.

To answer your question, last night was some complete Bs but lived through a Pitino Kansas 50 plus point beat down back in the day..

Difference in that Kansas beatdown was the level of talent UK had on the floor in those days compared to now. But I get what you’re saying.

Yep ...NCAA Probation period vs. pre-season Top 10.

The difference between Arkansas and Kentucky…

                          Expectations!

What is acceptable at Arkansas is not acceptable at UK.

Cal is perfect for Arkansas because they can live with between 20-25 wins a season and early exits from the tourney.

BBN could not and will not live with those results.

I want to agree but in reality, the Arkansas fan base is pretty passionate about the basketball team. Prior to Calipari, they have put a few pros to the NBA the old fashioned way.

Still i agree, Kentucky is Kentucky for a reason. Second place participation trophies don't get it, same with Dodgers Yankees Celtics Lakers, not tuned to that beat.

One problem we have after 15 years of Calipari is we have a generation of fans who thinks it's okay to lose, okay to have a bad season , okay to hold hands make excuses etc. They want to call you a bad fan or go root for someone else if you don't fall in line.

Sound familiar? The brainwashing is real.

High expectations and Championship ambition is what built our program, we don't play for second.

As much as we have all flipped out and complained, Mark Pope would feel the same if he was on the outside looking in,he knows without a doubt.

Somehow someway I hope he figures this out. He could keep Oweh Chandler Garrison Noah and build off that if needed. At least last year we know what we had for better or worse. I think the addition of Aberdeen coming in as a mentor I'm the boss role isn't working, same with Dioubate. Johnson pressing to be a one and done, Lowe injured, JQ injured, just been a mess .

Pick 5 ,simplify it easy, drive the ball, D up

                              BINGO!!!

This is the main portion of your post that I wanted to highlight, because you said it very well and I couldn't agree more.

I've noticed that UK fans have become somewhat complacent with mediocrity. I wasn't sure if that was whatever generation it was that grew up as the participation trophy era....or if it was Cal and his brainwashing propaganda...or both. But I remember when Cal was hired, in his introductory press conference....he pretty much told the fan base to let him coach the team, and for the fan base to "sit back and be entertained" (which is almost a direct quote). I remember thinking, "Is he telling all the fans to shut up, don't question anything he does, just appreciate what he does"? Because it sure seemed like he was setting himself up to be above criticism and telling the fans to lower expectations at the same time.
