    Anyone ever dreamed

We would have been better off keeping Travis Perry and losing Oweh AND Garrison?

Lotta folks were beating there chests about the money the Cats were shoveling out. Read the Jack Pilgrim article about how that plays out. 'Heartless mercenaries' SOUNDS awful.....but look at what we are seeing.

Crap. I'm not watching a full season of this lack of effort and pride. I'll watch what the women's team does or the volleyball team and wonder what Stein is gonna do with football. But THIS?????

If I'm totally honest, I didn't like how the money was spent or the amount of money spent

I felt like we were getting a good group of players without any true star players. Every good team has 2 or 3 players that are just better than everybody else. That's just how basketball is and how teams roll. When I looked at the roster, I thought "well, I guess Oweh is going to be the star...the go-to player...but he's more of a Robin, a # 2.... because he ain't no Batman". Add to that, he's not a guy you're going to feel comfortable with taking the last shot unless he is getting in the lane and to the rim.

It just seems like Pope believes in a "all the players are the same and no one separates themselves from the pack" mentality. Yes, he assembled good depth.... without any true leaders or star players. When I saw how small Jaland Lowe was I worried if he would be able to handle the physicality of the SEC.... and we're not even into the SEC portion of the schedule and he's already hurt!

I swear, the thought I've been having lately is how much say and input does Brooks and Hart and other coaches have in how the roster is assembled and which players are added. Because last year it really seemed like Pope hand picked those guys. I remember him taking them to Keeneland and picking them up at the airport and driving across the state in the middle of the night to pick them up. I didn't hear ANY stories like that this year! It seemed like as soon as the portal opened, we all of a sudden are getting commitments from a guy like Kam Williams, from Tulane, that nobody has heard of and wasn't on anybody's radar. Does that seem like a Mark Pope move or more like a Brooks or a Hart kind of signing?

I bought into the summer hype, so I didn’t dream
        of any of this.

Pope needs to quit being so nice and start kicking players off this team last night the walk ons should have played and leave the team in Nashvilleand let them find there way back to Lexington. This is total embarrassing bunch of quitters whiners and losers .

Purdue lost by 23, reckon they will run Painter out of town?

I still insist that it can’t just be NIL causing issues. You can look around the country and see guys like Labaron Philon and Yaxel Lendenborg who almost certainly didn’t withdraw from the draft without significant financial incentive or freshmen like AJ Dybansta and Cam Boozer who were allegedly asking 7 figures for a commitment and see them competing their butts off and balling out.

I don’t know if it’s just that Pope doesn’t have the personality to demand accountability or if some of the rumors of players having interpersonal problems are true, but something is going on beyond just a logical result of players getting paid.
