I never thought this team looked good on paper. I didn’t buy the hype. We got a bunch of role players and no stars. I thought Oweh would play better than he has. I was worried Lowe was a shoot first pass second pg. This team has one shooter and you can’t win that way. Pitino once said to have a great college team you need at least three NBA prospects. We have none in my opinion.

I am a casual basketball fan but I played a lo g time and even officiated for a few years. I only could stomach a few minutes of last night's game. I saw Aberdeen, on multiple trips down the floor, force horrendous shots after going 'star ball'. Saw several rebounds right in Moreno's hands that he couldn't hold onto. Did not see the movement and spacing that Pope has designed in his offense. We got very few good looks while Gonzaga had a lot of points in the paint and wide open jumpers. Even when we went zone, we left guys open.

Getting healthy would help. But, while the team is more athletic, we're missing good PG play and have no shooters. With limited movement in the offense, it's no wonder we aren't scoring very much. Too many trips down the floor result in just a few passes on the perimeter and either a forced 3 or someone drives and forces up a very difficult shot.

Pope needs to get this under control in a hurry. I think we can still have a decent year, but that will be the result of Pope's coaching this team to do the fundamental things correctly.

We'll see.

Ouch, I couldn’t even read it all but the truth does hurt. A lot of people blaming nil, but every team is paying guys big bucks. This team isn’t that talented and the pieces don’t fit, Pope also seems to think anyone guy can turn into a shooter.

don’t know if theres been such an embarrassing UK team like this one. I wouldn’t be shocked to see some guys leave soon, who knows maybe that sparks something within for the rest. I’d rather lose with a group who gives a damn, not a group smiling after a 40 pt beatdown.

Aberdeen, done some good things early but a bad mix with he and Oweh on the floor in my opinion.


Last night when it was discussed why he left Florida because negotiations broke down, that says alot in my opinion.

I expect another UNC type of game Saturday with IU but in the end we fall by 6 to 8 points. I expect St Johns to dominate but Pitino to back off and make it look closer than it was. We win the 2 crap team games. Then go to Bama for another Bama butt whooping. That is how it looks at this time. I will continue to come over after the game, watch rapid reaction on KSR to know how bad each game goes. This is a 15 loss team at least.

Barring some drastic change, like Pope telling some guys to hit the road, I think this season is over. More than likely 0-6, 1-5 in the big ooc games; and I’d be shocked at anything over .500 in league play. I’ve been on teams like this, very rarely do they get it and come together; mostly count down the remaining days.

Pope runs offense predicated on shooting 3s, yet none of these high dollar players shot above 30 percent from 3 at their previous school

How patient can we afford to be? Kenny Payne never got beat by more than 30. Pope it appears is our Payne. Admire Pope for his days playing, really wish it had worked but he needs to know money is root of evil, how many on this team is here without a big payday? UK means nothing to them only how much will i get paid, they dang sure not earning it. In private business they would be fired, If Pope keeps his job he better recruit talent and shooters and probably some players that may be 1 and done. We did just what PSU did got rid of a coach that had a chance just not one we liked much and yes it was time for us and him, but we thought we get whoever we want, we were wrong! Settled for a 5th or 6th choice if Pope was not an alumni we would had never given him a chance. Now how long to we tolerate this level of BB?

What a f-ton pile of crap that was...no spacing, no backdoor cuts, no extra passes...except at the wrong time. Noah should have finish that shot and got fouled.
This team is lost at sea with no direction and Pope and team better figure it out soon. You can get paid millions AND still have self respect about the quality of your work.
