Pope HAS to change his offensive philosophy, at least this season. We just don't have the shooters to do what he wants to do. In fact my son and I tried to think of a worse shooting UK squad in past and couldn't think of one. This is going to be a tough year. I'm not sure Pope will survive it if he doesn't make some serious adjustments.

I agree....the problem is, change to what? Other than Oweh we don't really have guys who are penetrators, and we don't have the muscle and physicality to pound it inside and score down low. We kind of in between a rock and a hard place.Pope HAS to change his offensive philosophy, at least this season. We just don't have the shooters to do what he wants to do. I think Pope thought he had to be something he's not this year and got away from what he really wants to do, which is space and pace. He doesn't have a skilled passing big like Amari, who can also play bully ball in the post, nor does he have elite outside shooting from Brea and Jackson that can take over games.
I bet he never makes that mistake again. Just my two cents.👍 2Comment

I quit watching a few games ago. Did not see a second of UNC game or a highlight, will not on this game either. I gave up on them as much as they have given up on themselves.
I am glad I watched the Volleyball game on Youtube. UK vs UCLA was a good volleyball game. 2 games went to 30 UK winning one and UCLA winning one. Uk won the other 2 sets fairly easy. Skinner got the CATS playing tough.Proverbs 25:24👍 1Comment

Honestly, I didn't think this team had "given up on themselves".... UNTIL TONIGHT!
Tonight, they looked like a team that just didn't GAF. They didn't even seem embarrassed that they were getting blown out on a big stage against a ranked opponent. I didn't see any urgency like they even cared to make a game of it or at the very least cut the final score to make it more respectable.
Tonight was as bad as I've seen a Kentucky team look in a long, long time. This loss made last year's loss to Ohio State look like a valiant effort!👍 1Comment

I just watched the presser after the game. Pope has no answers and you can see it in his face, you can hear it in his voice. Coach and players are shell shocked. Generic answers, it is on me, got to figure things out and such. I do not see any player fixing this including JQ or Mo. Pope does not know how to use his guys. Would not surprise me if we see guys leave at the break. Hawthorne, Noah or Johnson. This is not what they signed up for and why stay for it.Proverbs 25:24Comment

This team is horrible.
Pope recruited and paid for a slew of second tier players who do not have the ability to step up into first players roles.
I don't think Pope is going to make it.
I want the dude to make it. I just don't think he's going to do it.
Gods know I hope I'm wrong.

KSR Rapid reaction went nuclear on the game, the situation. They said after the start of the game within the first few minutes, the boos started, grew louder and louder all the way to half, when the team went off the court it was shouting and booing. It stopped once the team and managers were off the court. Then when the team was spotted in the tunnel to come out the boos and shouting started again, kept going till the large part of the crowd left with 5 minutes to go in the game. They said talking to fans that the booing was about the coaches and players not even caring about this game. The body language was not anything. Just looking at the team they could care less to be there. The effort and reaction of the team and coaches was horrid. Again I did not watch, will not watch anything on this game. But I have never seen KSR this way after a game. Jack, Tyler and Steven were ready to burn the place down. Steven especially. I think he summed up many fans range of emotions.Proverbs 25:24👍 1Comment

Agreed, even Cal did that a few years ago Pope has to realize this. His system don't work for this team.Pope HAS to change his offensive philosophy, at least this season. I agree....but the thing I've been wondering lately is.... just how much say and input did Pope really put into this roster? Because when you compare last year's team, which was clearly hand picked by Mark Pope, to this year's team....it seems like a night and day difference. And last year, he didn't have Alvin Brooks and Jason Hart on staff helping to assemble the roster until much later in the process and the vast majority of the roster was already in place! Some of these guys don't strike me as the type players and people that Mark Pope would truly want to be a part of his team! But, I'm not absolving Pope... because I do think his philosophy of "every player is the same and interchangeable" is a bit misguided. He definitely needs some studs and go-to guys who are clearly better than the rest of the guys on the team.Comment

I don't know the answer to that but from day one ,have wondered why Mark Fox is here?

Not impressed at Georgia, not impressed at Kentucky.👍 1Comment

I'm sure Pope hired him as a favor and a "thank you", because Fox gave him his first coaching opportunity when he was at Georgia. I thought it would be for a season or two only, so who knows...maybe this is the last year of that.
Truthfully, I didn't think Pope brought Fox on board to be a coach....there was talk about adding a General Manager type to negotiate and handle NIL. That's what I thought Fox was going to do.Comment
