    When Calipari was...

Losing to EVANSVILLE in Rupp, I don't remember fans acting as overly dramatic and irrational as they are today.

Three losses to ranked teams, only one at home, and two of the three decided in the final minute or two by less than two or three baskets. All missing one (Quaintence) key player, two other key players (starters) missing (Lowe and Dioubate) in the last one. Lowe was hurt in the Louisville game as well.

You'll have to excuse me if I'm not ready to throw in the towel the first week of December. Maybe at some point I'll get there, and a loss to Gonzaga will nudge me further in that direction....but I'm nowhere close to that at this point.

I remember people being pretty antsy after that loss. Cal also wasn’t super far removed from 4 FFs and a title, Pope doesn’t have a resume for people to stay calm in rough times like that. I think the level of play is what is more concerning than the losses. Maybe it looks different with a healthy roster, maybe it doesn’t.

I am willing to let the season play out, but they got to pick up some of these ooc games. SEC will not be like last year, but it will be filled with lots of battles.

Pick up a win tonight and it might change the winds for BBN. Go Cats!

I remember when we lost to Evansville, over on the old RR a lot of those posters went pretty crazy. So far we haven't lost to anyone of that caliber.
while I don't have a Good feeling about tonight's game I am not giving up on this team. There is still time to right the ship and still have a respectable season.
        season.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel.

I am concerned that they were bragging about how much money they spent on NIL putting this team together and now can't win against anyone ranked above 200.

Yeah Cal took a beating for a couple days there. Was pretty much compared to BCG and Gardner Webb.

My brother made that into a verb.

                and a phrase

                "What in the Gardner-Webb?"

Whole country has become addicted to drama and ANGER seems to have leaked into Ky sports as well.

In my defense, I've been in Texas for several years, and was here at the time of that loss. I wasn't frequenting the forum at that time, and the main people I was talking to about it were UK alum that live in the state of Kentucky. So I'm going off of how the UK alum living in the state were reacting, which was "that was a bad loss, but I'm not really all that upset or ready for a change just yet".

I think WeWant9 is right....Cal had earned enough good will that people were willing to overlook A LOT of crap when it came to him I was surprised his taking a knee didn't draw more ire, but I guess the faithful just weren't quite convinced that 2015 was completely over and not coming back.

Been watching UK Basketball for 56 years and I said that we would get beat by UNC and the Zags. Something is very wrong with this team. Is someone on this team causing problems ? This team looked like they were playing scared and with no heart the last two games. Can't put my thumb on it but something is wrong. If you can't hit 3's then you need to drive into the lane and try to draw fouls. THOUGHTS ? The fans had a right to boo this team ! THIS IS NOT UK BASKETBALL.

Cal had been to a couple Final Fours before he got here. Pope hadn’t even won an NCAA Tournament game.

I was in Afghanistan when that loss occurred.

I've spent the majority of the past 30 years outside of the continental United States.

                          So....no defense.

We do need them. But we still can’t lose by 35 in what is essentially a home game. It was over tonight by the first TV timeout. Not having all the horses healthy certainly is a factor but in the games against good teams we have essentially been blown out. UofL got close at the end but they were down close to 20 most of the night. Sparty wasn’t close, we went an eternity without a FG against a UNC team who tried repeatedly to let us win, and Gonzaga beat us like we owed them money. This is not an acceptable product and Pope deserves the heat he’s getting.

I don’t mean to come off as rude! Just the way I see it.

Personally, I thought Cal was an idiot for "taking a knee" in that moment. It was cheap, kabuki theater with closeted, privileged children.

Didn't even disagree politically even though I do not agree with lib political chaos theory.

I understood why he did it. He's a weak willed moron who knows nothing outside of his bubble.

The same problem with most of the American public.

But, yeah, Cal had earned good will by then. He'd done something. Pope has done nothing of note as yet.
