Barely remember the '78 team. I was born in '71. My first vivid memories of UK basketball was the '80 squad. I was a BIG Charles Hurt and Dicky Beal fan as a kid. I would buy basketball scorebooks at Allied Sporting Goods and would track the games then compare it to the paper the next day. Good memories. Glad I still remember them. Wish I had those scorebooks.Comment

I moved from Colorado to Paducah when I was 16, January of 1996. I had no clue about UK basketball, but all the kids at my school were going nuts about the wildcats that year.
The following season, I started paying attention to them. Ron Mercer, Derek Anderson, and the rest were amazing.
But I more clearly remember 1998, Jeff Sheppard leading the Come Back Cats, and watching them win the title against Utah on the day of my granddaddy's funeral (in Tucson, AZ), it made the world feel a little bit better.
Fast forward to spring 2010 when grandmommy passed, it felt like it would come full circle as John Wall and crew were a force to be reckoned with. I literally cried when they lost to WV. I thought we were gonna be champs and the world would be right again.Comment

Sam Bowie in a all star game prior to Kentucky. Handling the ball down the court like Anthony Davis Perry Jones. Actually, he was AD before AD until the injuries kicked in..Comment
