Another UK FORUM and hoo boy

Went over to a different UK board and looked around a little bit. There was a lot of former posters from the old RR site. Some of them were good posters but they also got the moaners, groaners and ********************ers from that forum along with the trolls.
I have seen none of that crap here and it just makes me so much more glad that i found this site.
I love it here, just good adult conversation about Wildcat BB with great Kentucky fans

Thanks South jones. I came over here when WCF collapsed after Mel's passing some 20-25 years ago. We've always endeavored to make this site one where women, children and others who value civility and decency can make this their home.

I still post on RR but good lord is it often a cesspool. Too many people whose favorite sport is fighting on the internet. I have to think a lot are trolls but I'm afraid many are genuine.

I was never on WCF. I never knew Mel. But I've heard a great deal about him from those on here who did and they speak with great admiration.

I was reading this thread and scrolled down to post that Mel's passing to the WCF OGs makes me think of Lighthouse when I saw your post (great minds think alike). I truly admired that man. His knowledge of the game was unparalleled. And he was both kind, but no-nonsense. I miss having him here.

I came over about the same time. It probably seems slightly less active because they don't allow so much of the non-UK stuff on the main UK basketball discussion board. The other one was always continually jammed up with posts on the NBA, recruiting and a bunch of other stuff that shouldn't have been there. I'll bet at any one time, 50% of the threads on that main board are off topic. I like that they keep it on topic by board here.

Also, I like that they keep the language, etc. cleaner.

I spent 10 years on the old Rafters and enjoyed it, but I do not miss it. This place might not have as much traffic, but at least I know everyone here is a real UK fan. It also isn't filled with all the negativity, bs, and people just wanting to be right 24/7. I took a peak over there this morning and just rolled my eyes; you'd think UK lost by 15.
