Kentucky’s BB NIL payroll for this year’s roster is $22 million, according to a report from the Herald-Leader. Likely the highest-paid roster in the sport.

It is amazing to me that UK becomes a private entity or pseudo private so they do not have to share rev share info but somehow someone at the Herald Leader knows this info. I have my doubts. It works in UK favor with getting guys here but also will be fodder for road games and such.

I would say if we were at about 10 mil last year we are probably at about 15 to 17 mil this year. We know Noah, Moreno, Potter and Hawthorne are not pulling 1 mil each. Probably more like an average of 700k each. I would say that you average out the rest at about 1.4 mil each (average 9 guys) and that is probably the amount of the roster this year. I am sure Aberdeen, Oweh, JQ and Mo are probably getting high end amounts but some of the others are getting much less. I am probably wrong and the roster is at 25 mil. lol

I think someone is full of crap just being honest. I just don’t see our roster at 22 million this coming season.

I think it's a good idea not to give any credibility at all to the roster salary numbers that are stated publicly. These people have no idea and they are just trying to get attention by throwing out some glamorous big figures.

Honestly, I don't see any reason for any university to disclose how much they are paying their athletes. None whatsoever. That's a private matter between the school and the players. The public doesn't "need to know", and I'd be saying the exact same thing if it was Duke or Kansas or North Carolina or any university. I didn't like the idea of paying student athletes in the first place, but since everybody else did and we've decided to open Pandora's Box and go down that rabbit hole, the least we can do is keep the financial figures private.

Someone has to be "FIRST!" in order to be proven right. I hate "news" anymore.
