Coach is saying some awesome things on players. Will be worth a watch.

Negative: only thing he said about Oweh, "He is dealing with his toe right now".
So what is out there must be true. Must be worse than they originally thought as he was supposed to be back 100% before start of fall practice. (This last statement is my thought). The quotes is what Pope said.

Pope: just stated this team reminds him of the 96 team in that practice is so competitive that it feels like games might be easier compared to practice. Said he has to get them off the floor sometimes as it is so competitive.

Pope, "We have the team to extend pressure this year". Maybe ready for some full court stuff?? Also said "Chandler leads the team in defense efficiency and Williams leads team in rebounds per minutes 10 reb in 16 mins.

Said high school recruiting is not always about the best as they might not fit. He said you will not find that out till late in the process. UK will walk away from guys that do not fit KENTUCKY. Has to have a winning formula.

Fan Fest Saturday open to the public in the exhibition hall (at Rupp). Pope at team there noon till 4 for autographs, pictures and such. No ticket needed. I did the thing at the horse park last year. It was a good event and I was able to get a picture with players and talk with all players. They will have food and fun for kids. If you all have kids and love UK basketball it would be a good day to go down there.

Pope about to run 40 minutes of hell because he can lol ? ? ?

They say it's outdated or it doesn't work these days but what team has 12 guys?

Better yet, did 40 minutes go away because coaches forgot how to really teach it?

Pope is a X's and O's guru. The fact we have many interchangeable parts and depth, I will not be surprised if he doesn't try and run teams out of the gym.

With the way injuries are nowadays I wouldn't want to run it every game...but, if it's the right match up and you got the horses, let them run.

We also know that players still want to play and that could be a problem if you get a bad apple on the team.

If Pope did decide to speed it up and press on defense, would probably mean players would get tired and would needed to be subbed more which means MORE PLAYERS get to play, could solve a potential problem.

Even if Pope does press this year, when it counts I would suspect him to have his solid 5 for the half court game when it counts.

Pope is really big on analytics, hence all the practice stats he's throwing out already. They also wear monitors during some practices that monitor their heart rates and exertion and a bunch of stuff like that. Anywho, if you see them wearing what looks like sports bras, that's what those are. But what that means is he knows going into games how many minutes he can get from his guys where they are at peak efficiency before they start to tire and drop off. He subs accordingly, partly based on that. Now injuries last year cause some of that to go out the window out of necessity last year, but those analytics drive a lot of his substitution patterns. I think this team is built to sustain if injuries pop up, and if healthy can seriously wear opponents down.
