Kentucky annouces details of the BBNIL Suite

The part that I like is:

An example of how it works a player being offered a $3.7 million deal to come to Kentucky. $1.5 million of that could come from the $20.5 million revenue-sharing budget, and the remaining $2.2 million would come from deals JMI Sports pursues and negotiates with UK’s official partners or outside companies; through this partnership, JMI Sports is responsible for finding that money.

So I would assume this now frees up NIL duties from the staffs? Sure, they’ll need to show up for handshakes and functions, but they won’t be chasing the money anymore? I know that has been a hot topic, especially from Stoops.

So, expanding the blame chain, more ways to pass the buck and not hold anyone accountable for anything. Seems like a great idea.
Going forward, Christian Laettner volunteers to catch any dildos flung on a basketball court - or anywhere else.

That's what I'm assuming if UK offers say 4 million. They say they want 1 million to come out of the 20 million revenue. Then it's JMI's responsibility to go find the other 3 million from I guess basically donors. If they can't get the whole 4 million for said player then JMI is then responsible to pay the difference. This actually sounds like a win win for UK.

I honestly don't know much of anything on JMI and NIL stuff, but I have seen a wide range of opinions on them and this deal. I do think if that is taken out of the staff's hands, that is a good step.

While that's true, I'm assuming someone from the basketball program and football program will be responsible for working with JMI on the value of a player and if that type of money is available. JMI will most likely tell both programs the amount of money they have available for the player and then the coaches will have to figure it out from there, prioritizing players and the money those players will command. It won't just be UK promising money and then telling JMI to figure it out or eat the cost.

I totally get that. I'm sure though for instance if Pope or Stoops really wants a player they're probably going to get said player $ won't be an issue if it's within reason.
