I also think those with multiple championships and final fours should be higher than they are. AD was awesome, and I love that team but when you say "ranked by program impact/UK production/title-stage contribution" he was still here only one season.
Davis had an historic season on the run up to the championship.

Just my opinion, of course, but, if no Davis, there would have been no Number 8.

That was the Davis Championship in my little reality.

You are correct of course, but one could also say that no Goose or Delk and there would have been no championships those years. I love them all, just discourse. I have no axe to grind.

I've always thought that Issel was overrated.

If he'd been that good, he'd have led his teams to a championship.

I'd have thought that would be obvious.

Me too. I'm guessing maybe there was a little sarcasm there that went undetected?? Stuff like that doesn't always come across in a forum like this.

He was slightly before my time so I cannot really give a first hand opinion. But the numbers in 3 years of college and his pro career say he was a total stud. Team game.

                    Agreed.

Issel played during the John Wooden/Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) days when they were winning 7 (SEVEN) National championships in a row. There were also other players like Elvin Hayes and Pete Maravich, etc., who were great but never won a national championship because of that UCLA dynasty. That's like holding it against Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, etc., because they didn't win a championship during the Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen/Phil Jackson Chicago Bulls run of championships during the 90s

The list is good, i would just switch around the players rankings. I have a hard time with 1 year guys being ranked up high, That is just my issue. A list of champs would have to have the guys that won multiple championships listed at the top of the list. No matter if they started and averaged 2 points a game. Then players that went to multiple and only won 1 followed by the players that went to 1 and won it. Just how I would do a list of best championship winning players.

                        Eh...I was joking about Issel.

I reckon the people who used to be all crazy about Issel aren't on the forum anymore. WCF/WCN used to have some absolute Issel fanatics.

I've always hated that he didn't win a Championship thanks to Sam the Concrete Man's funding of the Wooden dynasty.
