John Wall was a special player but it took that UNC game to cement his legend status. After some lackluster team performances against cupcakes, it was obvious Wall had the goods. That fast break two handed dunk against UNC showed us rather unfamiliar territory as far as what a PG can do. I jumped off the couch on that play.

It's crazy that it's been that long ago that Wall reignited our fan base...... Good luck to Wall in his after basketball life.... He was our after BCG savior just wish him and Cousins could've gotten a title in that one year (only if Meeks would've stayed)......

I don't really understand all the hoopla surrounding john wall? A athletic and talented player ,no doubt!
he was just another long line of players that committed his services to John calipari ,and his one ,and done madness. John wall would have been playing at Memphis ,if John calipari never arrived here . Wall never really accomplished anything here, other than what happened from the green room . Man! I am so glad that era has expired. "GO CATS" !!!

Really? 35-3 record, SEC regular season champ, SECT champ, #1 seed in NCAAT, All SEC, SEC POY, Freshman of the Year, and 1st team AA.

John Wall made Kentucky cool again for recruits. It started a wave of talent that we may never see again..

John Wall was one of the most exciting players to ever wear the Blue and White.I don't even care that he was a one and done, every time he stepped on the floor I felt something electric would happen. He like others have said made Kentucky basketball the cool brand .I can't even begin to explain how much he did for Kentucky in his one season with the Cats, thanks again John Wall for all of the great memories

So off base imo. 21 players in UK history have been a consensus 1st team AA...Wall is one of them. 16 players in UK history have been SEC POY...Wall is one of them. 8 players in UK history have won a recognized NPOY award....Wall is one of them.

Kentucky was a stale brand when Wall got here. He was the the guy that made UK cool again....Magic Johnson and Drake were doing the John Wall dance at UK games. While I agree that the Cal era ran it's course....John Wall is different.

I know this about Wall but Demarcus Cousins crazy $$$ is still one of my all time UK guys ever. I know he cried stomped around like a child half the time but he brought that Detroit bad boy attitude and for the most part, backed it up.

If John Wall had a real jumps shot, may have been one of the best players to ever play the game. Not college, but next level. His coast to coast speed quickness at his size was freakish....

There's a thread entitled "Smith or Calipari"....even if you weren't a Tubby fan (which there wasn't many, if the posts there are any indication) feel free to chime in with your thoughts on Calipari.

Demarcus cousins and John wall would have been at Memphis if the one and done maestro never appeared . I like those big banners hanging in rupp not 5 one and out of here getting drafted in the first round from the green room . Huge difference

Not going to happen anytime soon . Anthony Davis only one that deserves that banner from the green room era .
