I'm still curious about what happened with Wheeler/that team. There were always rumors of a team Oscar vs team Wheeler clique.
I do think the fans treated him badly, but grown adults personally contacting college athletes is absolute insanity to me so I will never understand the rationale behind it.👍 1Comment

He shouldn't have quit on the team, but I wonder if it was a result of all the crap fans were giving him. He was being crapped on from pretty much Day 1 here. In this day and age, players would be wise to not even read that stuff but it's human nature. I'd have a hard time not reading and taking to heart things keyboard warriors were saying about me if I were in Wheelers position.👍 1Comment

Oscar starting doing more and more religious activities, instead of being in the gym. Then he started voicing his veiws on others on the team. Cal hinted at it a few times about people not being in the gym enough, and I think he even called Oscar out at one point that year. We did not see the large year 1 to year 2 jump we saw in people like Patterson and Washington, with Oscar. He rubbed a section of the team the wrong way, in workk ethic and personal beliefs.. Good friend of mine was a tutor for the CATS program, she got to see alot of the interactions first hand... Oscar was very vocal about his religion.Comment

People always say that and it's not necessarily correct. I know plenty of times when it wasn't. Sometimes the truth is firmly on the other side.Comment

Or booed by the Rupp arena crowd when he checked into the game. The people who did that should have been booted out and never let back in. We don't treat our players that way.👍 3Comment

Truth. We could have even had a special night for him. Maybe his last home game, we could have had a special celebration. He could come out to a roar of applause!Comment

Cal and the rest of the team failed him IMO. If Oscar was half assing that season, his half was better than anyone else's 100%🥰 2👍 1Comment

I know right lol. I defended him many times because he was solid but Cal did not recruit a good enough roster and we had to rely on him way too much. After his second year antics though it changed my mind about him a lot.Comment

Oscar couldn't really improve on his amazing year 1 here stats wise. He averaged 16.5 points per game and almost 14 rebounds a fame though. He's the only reason UK won a ncaa tourney game Cals last 3 seasons.
