Forum Upgrades

[DA#23]

Hello All,

Just wanted to post that we will be looking at a little down-time tonight and into the morning as the site undergoes some upgrades.

This will help ensure that we're good to go when the seasons start and we see increased site traffic.

Well, poop. I still can't see who's tagging who. I didn't really think the upgrades would solve the problem anyway.

Sean is getting very close to having upgrades in place. One bug to workout. Could be done today.

We are now looking at Wednesday night for the upgrade to take place with a brief period of downtime.

So, we are doing it in stages. The first stage is moving off the hosted platform we are currently on. With the traffic we are seeing, we would exceed our allotment pretty quickly, which is a good thing! Everything will look pretty much the same when we first switch over. Once we are switched, we can start making the real changes.

Planned Changes:
1) The ability to easily see who reacted to a post.
2) The ability to 'apply' to the political forum instead of the current manual process.
3) And more...

Let me know what else you would like to see and I can look into making it happen.

Maybe get rid of recruit watch subforum so I can stop seeing Zion Williamson’s name and getting angry that Duke was not investigated over his agent before it was allowed. His agent said they had paid him. NCAA asked Coach K about it. He said “not that I was aware of.” End of story. At UK…MAJOR violation and multiple years probabation.

This is the only thing I can think of as well. It's not a big deal by any means, but when the season and games get going, threads are going to move off the front page quickly.
