Jelavic just completed his academic work in Croatia. While that went well, he would not be able to join the Cats immediately due to NCAA rules requiring players to be enrolled in summer courses in order to work out with the team.

When Jelavic enrolls for the fall semester, he can join UK on the practice floor.

“We’d like to get him here as soon as possible,” Pope said. “He’s doing great. He’s training back home. I expect him to come in and have a great impact.”

I sure hope we can get him here and get him with the team by the fall. I just hate it that UK has these kind of problems with the foreign players when there are so many good foreign players we could be recruiting.

If all that's the case, I'm going to assume he had to do his coursework in Croatia due to his team playing in that tournament that went into May/June? causing him to be unable to get enrolled in Summer classes here in time?

Per Jelavic social media post: he will be in Lexington is 2 weeks or less, before fall classes, checking in and start ramp up and conditioning. So that is positive news at least.
