Watching Coach Pitino beat Coach Cal in the final four in 1996 is the first time I remember taking an interest.

It looked like a rolling snowstorm. We watched the games like that for years. i was born in the 50',s but never knew what Rupp looked like until we got a decent TV in the early seventies.
What's crazy about TV is that we thought we had it great for years with technology and every game on the tube. Now you can go back and watch highlights from like 2004 and you have to squint to see anything.

My brother got me mildly interested when he came home from college during 63-64 season. Started listening to Claude Sullivan full time next season. Been a diehard fan ever since.

1975 is my first memory of our Cats I always loved Grevey, Givens and Robey. I remember having a radio listening to the games if it wasn't on TV. Also, a friend & I use to play in the driveway, and we would pretend to be players from the current team.

Over time I got over it. Maybe because as Wooden said in a friendlier reunion years later : 'if you had played defense, Mr Grevey things may have worked out more like you wanted'.
Was this the game Wooden walked on the court and the ref just walked him back to the sideline? Before my time, but my dad brings that up about 2-3x every season like I’ve never heard it before ha.

My dad crying in our living room floor when Christian Laettner hit the shot. I watched games with him and enjoyed them up to that point, but I didn't get it until that night.

The first NCAA Tournament championship game I ever watched as a little kid was the 1978 Kentucky win over Duke. I listened to occasional AM radio broadcasts (Cawood Ledford and Ralph Hacker) of Kentucky games throughout that season...so I guess they kind of tie together hand in hand.

Actually he was screaming 'you crook' at the ref and was gently led to the bench.

"Folks are beginning to stream out of Memorial Coliseum. They have set through a long game and now a overtime. .... The ball is passed to Vernon Hatton near mid-court. "

I listened to this game on the radio but my brother was in attendance. He said after Hatton's shot went in, the crowd remaining exploded. People then started streaming back into the Coliseum
