Don't really compare at all.. Wagner peaked before his sr year,, IMO.. He's more like Boogie Fland than Wagner.. Jumps higher than Fland..

The more I see of JJ the more I think he's going to need a couple of years in college. Physically needs to mature and get bigger plus he floats on both ends. Doesn't play any defense that I have seen. Our practices should help with the lack of intensity cause if he doesn't bring it he'll get embarrassed.

Just like any freshman, he will have his ups and downs. Watching the U19 games (not complete games but most of his minutes), it looks to me that he takes a back seat a lot and then really goes for it for a few minutes. He will have to learn to play 100% of the time when he is out there, sort of like Chandler had to learn last year. He can shoot, he can get in passing lanes, he tends to get lost (at least during these u19 games) on defense. Almost like he played zone when the team was playing man to man, not every possession but quite a few times. I love his spirit and has God given talent for sure. Just get to campus and the older guys will help to polish his game along with strength coach and of course the coaching of Pope and Co.

I said either in this thread or another one, can’t remember but I think he has a tremendous year and is a lottery pick after one year. He has had very little high level coaching but I think by the time Jan or Feb rolls around, watch out. He has a little Dillingham to his game. I will gladly eat crow but I’m as high on him as I have been on a freshman in a long time.

the good news is if he is lottery that is great for us and if he comes back for year 2 that is great for us
