It's making visas difficult. I think ultimately he should be here, but it's currently a process in a way it wasn't just a few months ago.

I don't watch Fox, Newsmax type of dude lol lol lol...

Actually, could care less about the news.

    Hopefully this situation gets resolved..

I’m new here and not trying to cause issues but you’ve made 2 posts political that didn’t need to be made political. It’s unnecessary to turn absolutely everything into a political jab at the other side.

The immigration thing isn't really a political deal in this context, it's just the reality of the world we're living in right now.

The NBA has discussed this openly through their office that gets players cleared and green carded to play there. The issue right now is that the immigration paperwork and the process are infinitely more complicated than they were just a couple years ago.

I don't know anything about the specifics of Jelavic's case, but you would have to HOPE that it's more of a paperwork and rubber stamp deal. I'm going to guess that those kinds of things are simply taking way longer than they ever have.

I hope we are never dependent on a freshman lead guard ever again.

It used to be a pretty firm belief in the sport that if you had a freshman point guard, you were doomed.

I'll bet Cal never said that 😁

No, the opposite...and he walked the walked with some of those guys. I mean it's a weird irony that one of the more flawed freshman point guards Cal had (offensively at least) in Teague won a championship.

As the poster said though, it definitely has its land mines.

The transfer portal era has rewritten the rules (again) to where I think it's best to have freshmen who you can stack behind your veterans. Rather than throw them into the fire, let them ease into it.

He is for sure a good guard. But competition is not as good as he will see in college on game to game basis.

I think the UK/UL game this year will be a nail biter. Will be a good test for us early. We will win this one again.

Brown will definitely be a top freshman and one of the best young players in college for sure. He’s really Eilte. Hate UofL, but he is what he is. We will be more than fine with our backcourt.

He is a very good player in a long line of very good players at UL that UK has kicked their asses for decades. Not just years- decades. We own the commuter school in basketball and that won’t change.

Being new here and still feeling like a guest, I will bite my tongue. But I will say there are bigger issues being addressed than college basketball eligibility. Visas being handed out like donuts isn’t the answer despite what they tell you on CNN or MSNBC.

I don't watch CNN or MSNBC, and I agree with you about passing out visas like candy.

And you're not a guest, nor do you have to feel as if you have to bite your tongue. You're here, you're one of us.

UK is having difficulty getting Jelavic stateside. It should be resolved by the season, but it's a different landscape currently re: immigration. That's not my partisan opinion, but rather the reality of the situation.

I hate that we're playing this game in November. Louisville/Kentucky should be played in February, when eyes nationally are moving to college basketball.

November games end up as a footnote.
