    Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr.

Brown is apparently tearing it up for the U19, and I've noticed from my X timeline (which I have to aggressively purge every now and then) that Louisville fans think they have the second coming of Russ Smith here.

Saw somebody say that Brown may not be one of the best freshmen in America next year, but one of the best players period.

I've never seen him so I have no idea, but they're convinced they're sitting on a wunderkind.

He is, unfortunately. Very good player.

ul fans hype the hell out of any player. I haven’t seen him play either, but reports are that he’s good. But we’ve seen firsthand some hyped freshman not live up to their expectations, and Kelsey has no track record with ond guys, yet.

He's a really good player, and will probably be the best player on the court when we play in November.

Who do we think will guard him? I imagine Pope might throw a lot at him to try and tire him out for his first big college game.

Would assume Lowe, but Kentucky should have a lot of different possibilities with guys like that.

Brown kind of looks and plays like Jeremiah Fears, and obviously he gave us so many problems last year. But this coming year we should be able to throw much different looks at guys like that. Last season he usually stuck Oweh on a guy who was going off, to varying degrees of success. I can see somebody like Kam Williams being the stopper on this team with his size.

He is going to face a lot of big, physical defenders when we play in November. He will be their best player, but Kentucky still has the better team.

The key is seeing how that translates to playing against grown men. The transfer portal equalizes things.

Heard some good things about him recently. Most assume he's a sure fire one and done first rounder.

Still , we know how freshman can be, especially in November.

Talked to someone who's been keeping a pretty close eye on the U19 action, and he said Brown and Dybantsa have been in a class all their own.

He plays defense like Reed Shepherd did as a freshman. Watched him get his ankles broke several times...typical freshman. Does anyone really think that Aberdeen couldn't guard and score on this freshman? How about our 2025 all ACC point guard Lowe?
