    Most underrated Kentucky win

    I think it's Stanford 1998 and WVU 2011.

Well this is a real challenge. I always expect to win.
Going forward, Christian Laettner volunteers to catch any dildos flung on a basketball court - or anywhere else.

You could make a case that it could be Florida last season in Rupp. Incredible game, and we beat them not in a game where they laid down, but where they seemingly hit every shot.

Another one that comes to mind from recent history: beating the snot out of Kansas in Oscar's first year. That's a win very few people talk about given what happened for the rest of the season.

It seems like we often hype or over-hype every single win - and conversely make every loss seem like Armageddon - so it's tough to come up with one that was underrated. I can't really come up with one, myself.

I would agree. That is a game not many people gave Kentucky a chance to win. Knight and Harrellson really put on a show taking down the overall #1 seed.

Also, while not underrated, the epic beatdowns Kentucky gave Wake Forest in the 1993 NCAA tournament and the 86 points we dropped on LSU in the first half of the 1996 regular season contest were among my more memorable Kentucky basketball moments. Those 1990s Pitinos teams could just make your jaws drop sometimes with the things they did. I also loved the beating they handed IU in the 1996-1997 season where DA did his little dancing jig after stuffing one over an IU defender. Fun times!

It was awesome, but I wish Vitale wouldn’t have chastised him.

DA is my favorite former player.

                      It's a great mystery.

It was mostly coaching and how the defense was never good, if I had to guess.

But it's also the downshot of having one player who's doing everything for you. I think they looked around for Oscar to save them all year and it was easy for some of the other guys to just loaf around and think, "Eh, Oscar will get it." Much better to have several different top-shelf players rather than one colossal one. Harder for the other team to scheme.

Recently it's the win over Troy. Pope's first NCAA win and our 2nd NCAA tourney win of the decade.

Recently I would say the Duke win. Makes one wonder what might have been had we stayed healthy. All time I would pick NCAA win over Wichita State as a very underrated win.

I second the Duke win last year.

We had no business winning that game and we did.

I think the Wichita St. win is widely regarded as one of the best pure games of the Calipari era.

It kind of reminded me of the Stanford game in the FF that was mentioned. Having to beat a team when they play their A game and Kentucky still rises up to beat them is a pretty sweet feeling.
