I like this a lot better than the Discord Channel

Maybe it's because I'm old (I am getting there) but I prefer the message board style vs Discord. Plus as a dude that has been into tech since the late 90s I never want to associate with Discord.

We have both chat and traditional forum style posts on Discord. Come over and try it and I'll help show you around if you'd like. I'm seeing a lot of folks dismiss the platform before they really understand how it works.

This board has an old school feel and I dig that, however I do wish that the thread titles etc were more of a kentucky color blue.

There's a color scheme list in the admin panel. I had to use it recently. They're weird and you can't quite get the blue right.

As mentioned in the other thread, an upgrade may happen...it may HAVE to happen. I would imagine when you upgrade vbulletin allows you to do a lot more things with the colors.

This is an old slapdash software that you would've seen in basically hobbyist forums 10 or 15 years ago. As I said in the other thread, it's always worked for us...but we've never had anything like this happen. We'll adjust and take on the cost if this thing continues to not work well for our members.

Over on the old site, you have to establish a new account to be able to post. Why they couldn't migrate the old account info over baffles me. If I have to establish a new account, I'd much rather do it here than there. That way I avoid bowing to both On3 & Matt Jones.

Yeah, that's stupid.

I can assure you we all know a lot about many of the posters on Rafters, so any account information is basically unnecessary for the most part. We've got a decent idea of who's who. I posted on Rafters for years back in the day and recognize 80% of the people who've come over.

Really appreciate the updates, Will. I find the site pretty easy to use on the iPhone and home Mac/Firefox. Here's hoping it will grow right along with the member count. I'm not going anywhere.

This forum is fine the way it is, IMO. We don't need fancy gadgets or glamor. We just need a friendly, open place where we can talk about UK sports. I'll take substance over flash any day. Some upgrades may eventually be needed to handle the extra traffic on big days, but the overall layout is fine.

More than the look and the gadgets, the worry is more about user load and bandwidth. I've personally noticed glitches before even if we've just had 10 or 12 posting at the same time. You can imagine what would happen now if we had a big news event or something and users flooded on here.
