So does that make draft day the worst day in Arkansas basketball history?

Curious to see how Cal is viewed by the regulars on this board. On RR he is very very very strongly disliked lol 😆

I'm sure we're about the same as everybody. We pretty much loathed him at the end.

Yeah, but within the general loathing/exhaustion was a pretty complex range of emotions, I think (which is also probably true for everyone).

Wasn’t just straight-up hate around here, though.

I never loathed him, certainly not to the extent of some of our friends from Rivals.

I liked Cal before he came to Kentucky, loved him at Kentucky for awhile, got burned out, and the vehemently pushed for a change when it was clear that he was finished. I like him well enough now.

I think "loathe" is a bit of a stretch. Even at the very end, I didn't loathe him. Pitied him, more than anything, for being a stubborn fool. And I was exhausted with his stream of bullst.

                      No.

I thought in both Oscar's first year and Reed's only year that Cal had found some magic. There were still some pretty insane peaks in those seasons.

I could make a case that the beatdown of Kansas on their home floor is one of the more impressive regular season wins we've had in many years.

But the problems were how it ended. Following a team (and by proxy a coach) is kind of like having a colonoscopy: you remember most how it ended and the pain of everything being removed.

And I think what became loathed were more the antics than the coaching. The soundbites, the weirdness, Little House on the Prairie, players just rushing for the door the second the season ended, etc.

The coaching was horrific too at times but what really began to grate was the sideshow.

Dude, what kind of colonoscopies have you had? They put me to sleep and didn't take a thing.

They recognize my absolute manliness, probably.

(In truth, I've never had a colonoscopy. I've only been to the doctor six times in my entire life. That was just a metaphor I heard once about something (books, actually).)

                              I was about to say.

                              Colonoscopies shouldn't be painful.

I KNEW some funky stuff was going in those Mexican resorts.
