I will miss his Saturday night sign off each time. Ask us to be safe and go to church and worship the Lord. He was for sure one person along with several others on here that I came to just discuss things with them.

Father we lift up our friends here on WCN that were close to Steve. He was truly a Lighthouse to all. We ask for his family and all our friends here that they feel your love and caring for each of us. Lord be with those that are dealing with this horrible thing. We ask the we always remember the good words he would speak or type here. Thank you Lord for my short interactions with Steve and with all the people here at WCN. We pray for peace and spiritual healing for all dealing with his passing. We know you have a time and a purpose for all things. Thank you Father you are truly the GREAT SPIRIT / FATHER OF ALL THE UNIVERSE. In Jesus name, Amen.Proverbs 25:24👍 2Comment

For all the new members who never interacted with Steve—I know others have noted that he was a retired basketball official. But he was a pretty accomplished one who was tasked with evaluating other officials after he was no longer calling games himself. Countless times this board would be blowing up after an egregious call went against us in a UK game. Then Steve would interject with the official’s point of view on the play. I may not have always agreed with his take but it was clear he knew more about the rules than I did.
In the last few years he was still standing up for officials quite often while blaming the NCAA for how they were forcing interpretation of the rules.
No one rooted harder for the Cats in all sports. That, his love for his family and his unwavering faith in his savior are what you would think of every time you’d see one of his posts.
I always truly appreciated him giving me permission to go turkey hunting on his family land in western KY—where I believe his brother still lives?? Unfortunately I never made it down there—really busy that time of year and is a bunch of miles from my home. But was so kind of him to offer. Really good guy who will not soon be forgotten by us old timers of WCN.
RIP old friend. Hope to watch the Cats with you again some day.👍 6🥰 1Comment

RIP my friend
May God take you into his bosom and bless you eternally."I am the punishment of God. If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you."
