    College Basketball Rules Changes

The game will have continuation after fouls and coaches’ challenges being the only way out of bounds replays can happen next season. Coaches will lose a timeout if challenge is unsuccessful.

    Two much-needed rule changes imo.

So you can use as many timeouts for challenges as you want, or is there going to be a set limit for each game?

Looks like it’s one challenge. Then if you’re successful, you get an extra.

They'll probably end up holding on to them until very late in the game, pretty much every time. The timeout thing will not be much of a hindrance because there are too many timeouts given to teams as it is.

If they are as efficient at reviewing and making a call as the NBA is, I'm all for it. Professional officiating is far and away more efficient in the NFL and the NBA. Watch a college football game and tell me how long it takes to actually get the call announced. The pro refs are on the mic before the guys are off the ground.

"Mike's wondering when Tubby is going to call a timeout. Tubby's not going to call a timeout." Think I quoted that correctly.

One of the most brilliant coaching maneuvers I remember.

What about the change to from two halves to four quarters?

Hasn't been changed yet, but it's inevitable that it will be at some point.

I hope not. I've loved it for a long time just the way it is and has been.

I wouldn’t mind it depending on how they adjust the number of fouls before a team is in the bonus.

Quarters are far superior. There's a reason why men's college basketball is the only league on planet earth playing two halves.

There's no reason for it other than tradition and a simple way of branding the men's game. It's ridiculous and should've been changed two decades ago.

Or the rest of the world could change to halves. That could have been done two decades ago as well.

They wouldn't do that, because playing in halves is nonsensical.
