All it took was Vandy beating Alabama and they were like, "Nope."

And the increase won’t change anything. Vandy rushed 3 times this past year, the 3rd costing $500k. Still rushed.

I was on Broadway when they carried the goalposts down and threw them in the river. Got a great picture from the doorway of Alan Jackson's Good Time Bar. If I wasn't an old I would've joined them.

If they wanted to really stop it, make it 25% of SEC money. Only then would the schools put things in place to prevent it. As is, there’s nothing stopping Vandy from rushing their basketball court except 1-2 rows of state troopers.

What sort of barrier do you think would be effective?

Imo, it’d be hard to do any sort of physical barrier as it would obstruct views and kids climb like Spider-Man.

Really, the only one would be a multi-layer row of police. I can’t imagine what that would cost, but it’d be less than, say, 25% of SEC revenue.

When coaches would come out and say “they’d” pay the $100k for the kids rushing, they’d think twice if it was $1M or $5M.

They article mentions what the solution will be: rushing is paused until opposing teams and staff leave.

The problem is, it’s been about injuries: to opposing teams, and the people doing the rushing. Once you give the green light to rush, you’re almost inviting lawsuits when someone participating gets hurt.

Theres really not a “perfect” solution.

Looking at Vandys stadium, I’ve seen High school fields with more physical barriers.
