    NCAA Tournament: Sweet Sixteen

Here we go. College basketball fan's Christmas. One of the Best Days of the Year. Should be a national holiday.

Louisville of all teams gets this thing started today at a little after noon. Weirdly and for no particular reason, I didn't fill out a bracket this year. Same as last year. Not sure why, just didn't really appeal to me. I'm gonna watch these games, though...with gusto.

Glad Kentucky plays on the second day so we can just sort of relax and watch these today with no pressure.

Going to Rupp. I hope the UofL/Creighton game is good. I don’t have a lot of hope on the other 3 games.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking the same thing this morning on my way to work.

For 35-36 years I would fill out a bracket religiously, haven't filled one out for two years now.

Texas has fired Rodney Terry. Sean Miller, the coach who knocked him out last night, might be at the top of their wish list.

This generation will never understand the frustration of getting just one NCAA Tournament game on TV.

Whatever you got on CBS, you got, and that was that.

              Get off my lawn.

^ Actually I grew up in a town with two CBS affiliates, one in Knoxville and one in Lexington. So sometimes we'd be able to bounce between different games.

Texas is a sleeping CBB giant. They, along with Florida and OSU, are premier football schools that could also be super tough in basketball if they wanted.

Here in EKY you’d drive up on a hill so you could get radio reception … but that was before my time

When I was growing up, we had an outside antenna but it wasn't motorized. The antenna, which was located next to the window where dad sat, was loose so it could be turned depending on which channel dad wanted to watch. When it needed to be turned dad would give instructions to mom or me, depending on which of us happened to be turning it at the time, as to when to stop turning it. Ah, the good old days.
