I personally think all the 14 should get in from the SEC. I’ve seen a lot of ball and this conference is simply better than any others, by a large margin. 6 wins in the SEC is like coming in third in the ACC.
Eyeball test for the SEC is off the freaking chain. The games simply look different.
So 14 teams make the NCAA. Are you predicting 14-0 first round?
so, you’re going to answer “of course notâ€.
so my follow-up question, how many win their first round game?
If they get 13 or 14 I’d say they’ll win about half. Those teams seeded 6 through 11 can historically go either way, even though a couple of these teams in that range are stronger than those seeds generally are.
Think the SEC can probably get 4 or 5 into the Sweet Sixteen.
Also, some of these teams are going to knock off other SEC teams in the second round.
Tournament directors should be able to look at data. The game is not played or officiated the way it was in 1998. Why use the same schedule? Plenty of data out there how long it takes to play these games and a 5 minute OT is not that unexpected.
How long is a shooter a shooter on a three? Guy shot it landed, was admiring it, then got touched by the defender and gets 3 free throws?? At what point is he not a shooter? I thought it was once he landed?

Was it Hubbard? If so, his entire shooting form should be illegal.
Anyone see the end of the UL game? Tied 73 all UL with a shot with 2 or 3 seconds left, missed, Stanford guy rebounds it, gets hammered across both arms dislodging the ball straight into Chuckie’s hands at the elbow. Instead of Stanford at the line for the win there’s no call and Hepburn drained it. Good fortune.
If the SEC crushes it in the big tournament—great. If they choke I don’t want to hear any “we beat each other up all season†crap. Walk the walk if you want to be the big dawgs.
I think the conference is incredible this season. But no excuses, please.
