Saw some reports that he got in there and made them aware he really wanted it. Could be that Maryland didn't want to run the risk of getting behind in the portal, so took Buzz because he showed interest and was coming off a solid season.

Can't imagine it going well.

Really? I always thought Buzz was a pretty good coach. Been to the tournament three years in a row with A&M. I'd think he would succeed at a place that puts an emphasis on basketball, unlike A&M.

By the way, there's a law somewhere that mandates A&M starts in the to 10 in football every year and ALWAYS finishes 8-4.

I think he's a solid coach, but Maryland will be a tough place to try and win at. They've got a little bit of a tortured history there, as evidenced by Gary Williams always having a chip on his shoulder, even when he was winning a national title for them.

Buzz is a gritty system coach in a place where you probably need a splash.

Trilly Donovan tweets that Buzz has "sold Texas A&M at the top" a la a tech startup...but in reality, 85% of A&M's roster is going to have to leave college basketball to enter a rest home.

Didn't know where else to put this, but Will Wade just hired Andrew Slater as his GM, and on the surface that looks like an incredibly savvy move. Slater's as connected as they come.

Wade is going to be a problem for everyone - especially Duke and UNC.

Meanwhile, we still don't have a GM...
