Consistently happy vs. always happy....I'm consistently happy as a UK basketball fan, as opposed to always happy. Unhappy in 2013 - I just did not get that, but remained hopeful. Unhappy when everyone and their brother (literally-ha) declared for the draft this year, but I know I was spoiled and will love next year's team, too. Very unhappy back in the BCG days. Very happy that Cal took over the reins. I appreciate and cannot believe what a difference he made in such a short time. He restored the program. Let down, but had the best time this season. It was so much fun, I almost didn't know if I had the energy for it, but man, was it fun. Very happy with the players' characters (that's important to me). That's the only thing that could make me not want to ride out a season on the court. If we had a coach who came in and didn't recruit players with good character and didn't care to teach them to grow in good character, that would bother me. I have family, friends, a job, church, and all the important things in life. I also have room for basketball and genealogy, so I'm doing fine.

Good post Capcat. Like you, outside of the BCG years I am happy. Before and after. We have the best program in college basketball. Period. How can anyone be unhappy with that? We always wanted someone like Pitino since he left here because NOBODY was like him. Now we have that in spades and I just don't get how some could be so downtrodden. Spoiled? Sure. Unhappy? Absolutely not! Outside of UCLA's run, no program has been better in the modern era. It's freaking hard as hell to win a Title, much less go unbeaten, which is why I've said from the beginning that there will never be another undefeated team. I was wishing all last year that we would've lost a game or two before the Tourney, but at the same time pulling for a perfect season. Who wouldn't have?

Yeah, I think it's common to get into this thing where when the team doesn't win a championship, we start thinking that something must be wrong.

All you need to do to heal yourself of that is go back to that time when we couldn't even get to the Final Four. That was in the long-past, sepia days of seven years ago.

BBNalldayeveryday <~~~~~ University of Kentucky basketball is an important thing to me that I'm passionate about, and that's not going to change..The End

I will say that I would like if the players stayed for at least 2 years.
