I'm not saying Cal's leaving, at this time (he probably isn't), but if he's considering it, this might be the time. He took one of the best teams, in the history of college bb, and failed to win the NC, he seems to have hit a recruiting snag, and next season could be somewhat ugly. Who knows, for sure? Not me, that's for sure.

Thing is, most NBA experts agree that if you had your pick of one player to start a NBA franchise around at this day and time, who would it be?? Most everyone agrees that it's not Lebron James, it's Anthony Davis.

Just tossing this out there for discussion but do you think Coach Cal might have told the recruits or hinted that the possibility existed that he may not be there next year. I know it would be almost impossible to keep it quite but it would explain why we missed out on so many recruits

Your theory seems logical, but as you say, it would be almost impossible to keep something like that quiet.

If he truly wants to go, this is the time, place, and player.

If I were him, and that was an aspiration, then I'd be moving on.

I am tired of rumors and tired of the doubters who seem to be saying that they would really like Cal to move on. He is the best thing we have going right now and people that want him to move on are just being negative. It was not on Cal that we finished 38-1 this past season. I think we will have a good team this coming year but with the exception of one season Cal kept us in the hunt on winning a National Championship. I really don't understand what some of you want from Cal. I think we are darn lucky to have him. Also I don't think Cal is going anywhere but like Coach K. staying where he already is.

I believe Cal will take his own advice should he decide to opt for the NBA. He'll take a job at an established team in the top tier of their conference with a strong base of players. In that case, the Pelicans fail on that mark. Cleveland on the other had would be a real worry.

As for the contract extension, coaching contracts are not worth the paper they're written upon.

Cal will probably wait to take the head coaching position with the Lakers after they sign free agent Anthony Davis in two years. By that time they will likely have Westbrook and Love as well.
