    Most underrated UK player

Enough recruiting, platooning, Derek Willis talk - let's discuss something different.

Who, in your opinion, are the most underrated or under appreciated UK players? I'd prefer to keep this last 20-25 years or so the younger folk (me) know who the heck you are talking about.

I will start with Brandon Knight - dude was SO good and I feel like he hardly ever gets mentioned.

Of those that I've seen it has to be Keith Bogans.

Pretty incredible career. Never mentioned with the greats. Never mentioned at all.

Chuck Hayes. Heart and soul guy but not flashy. Those types of guys just get forgotten.

Of all people, you had to say Brandon Knight. You know i wasn't a huge Knight fan at ALL but at the same time, Brandon not only earned my respect at Kentucky, but on the pro level as well. I haven't put much thought to this but the one player that hardly ever gets mentioned during the Cal era is Eric Bledsoe. Everytime announcers start talking about what Cal has done at Kentucky and the players he's put in the NBA, it's always Wall,Davis,Cousins,Rose,Knight, and so one. Very seldom do they ever mention Bledsoe and i got news for you, Eric Bledsoe is a star and franchise player for the Phoenix Suns period, they love that young man to death. He's even been referred to as a baby Lebron for the scoring, rebounds, and assists totals on any given night.

Chuck Hayes just crossed my mind as well. Still, have to think about this for a minute. I am trying to determine whether or not it's a player over a period of time or a player that actually helped us win a Championship??

I see your point about Knight. I don't think he was underrated I just think he had the misfortune of being surrounded by John Wall and a national title with Davis.

The most underrated player I can think of, outside of Bogans, would have to be Liggins. He could simply shut down anyone and could get to the rim when he wanted to. I feel like he is rarely talked about because he was so dang quiet (with the exception of telling BCG he wasn't going back in the game) and was considered a "left over" from Billy G. I am not sure if he is still in the NBA, but I know he had a nice stay with the Thunder.

Im thinking Rajon Rondo, Ron Mercer maybe Bogans but to be honest folks, it's Wayne Turner all the way. Floor general, 4 year guy, big shots when we needed it. Shooting doomed him in the NBA but he was a great college player.........

                  WAYNE TURNER

Heshimu Kenyata Evans. THE spark plug on a championship team and a great player. Almost never mentioned as a contributor when that team comes up.

Kentucky has had so many really good players its really easy for some to get lost in time. Here are a few good ones from about 25 years ago to the more present that aren't talked about much:

                      Reggie Hanson
                      Wayne Turner
                      Jeff Shepherd
                      Anthony Epps
                      Allen Edwards
                      Cliff Hawkins
                      Dale Brown
                      Kentucky fan since 1971.
